No worries.
[edit]I saw the merits of both our entries, at first look of your rewrite I just felt some of the language was too opinionated. It read really well though. It was really classy of you to reach out either way.—Alger82 (talk) 00:51, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

re: Common misconceptions.
[edit]I removed the bit about hands having to be registered as deadly weapons largely because the statement is, as I've ever heard it, a common joke. There are few if any Americans that believe that the hands of a martial artist actually *must* be registered as deadly weapons. I'll leave it in, but I'll just let it be known that my primary concern was to avoid the reaction of "Ohlawd, they really think that? Stupid Americans." Because we don't think that. I would be immensely surprised if anyone ever did. (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.102.14.132 (talk)
- As silly as it sounds there are people who believe it. I labeled it an "American" misconception because the ref I found called it that. And most importantly, it's bad form to wholesale delete referenced information. Please don't do that again. --Armchair info guy (talk) 20:16, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
