Welcome, Amiaheroyet!

Welcome to our community!

I'm glad you've decided to join us - this is a great project. We do have a lot of users, and are currently working on 6,913,312 articles, so things can be a little intimidating! Don't worry - we love to help out, and we'll try our best to make your stay here as comfortable as possible.
Here are a few links I found helpful when I first arrived here.

You should sign your name on talk pages, discussions and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date. Also, if you don't want to jump right into editing articles right now, why not check out the sandbox? Feel free to make test edits there.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian - I definitely do. Although we all make mistakes, please keep in mind what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or problems, leave me a message on my talk page, and I'll try my best to help. Otherwise, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

We hope you stick around, and make sure you enjoy yourself! Cheers, riana_dzasta 08:25, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Thao Nguyen and The Get Down Stay Down. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. -- Shadowlynk 08:03, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Thaonguyenandthegetdownstaydown_infrontofbus.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Thaonguyenandthegetdownstaydown_infrontofbus.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it, but use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. -- AuburnPilottalk 08:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC) 08:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Thaonguyenandthegetdownstaydown.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The softies band members blackandwhite.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The softies band members blackandwhite.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:HeaderV2_04.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HeaderV2_04.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 02:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That source is still not sufficient. How did the image get from that agency to here? Website? You, as an employee took it from somewhere at work and uploaded it here? I have restored the no source tag. MECUtalk 14:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFD Comments

[edit]

Hello. I think that some of your AFD comments got messed up and now appear in the wrong place. (See: here and here.) Your comments mention youtube, but these AFDs are about student groups. I don't want to delete or mess with anyone's comments, so I'll leave that up to you or an admin. Thanks!--RedShiftPA (talk) 00:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so it looks like the AFD for Mela y sus hermanas didn't work and your comments got placed in odd places. I'll see what I can do. --RedShiftPA (talk) 00:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I fixed it there. I'll go ahead and nominate the Mela y sus hermanas for deletion for you (I've done a few of them recently). Here's a good place to get info on the AFD process: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion--RedShiftPA (talk) 00:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Thao Nguyen

[edit]

I have no objection to Thao Nguyen herself in the category of female rock singers, but not her band. Even if it exists purely as creative vehicle for herself, the fact of the matter is that her name is not "Thao with the Get Down Stay Down", it is Thao Nguyen. If you want to create two seperate articles, one Thao Nguyen and one for her band, by all means go ahead, but is inappropriate to put a group of people into a category for individual people. It would be as though I put the band Nirvana (band) into the categories of 1967 births and 1994 deaths on the basis that those were the years of Kurt Cobain's birth and death, and because Nirvana was a creative vehicle for Cobain. It simply doesn't make sense to browse a category meant for individual people and to find a band there. Also, I am concerned that your interviews with Ms. Nguyen might be considered original research. Please see Wikipedia:No original research for details on what is considered good research for an article and what isn't. Thank you. Asarelah (talk) 18:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Crazy Like a Fox (TV series), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Crazy Like a Fox. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Thanks for uploading Image:SAMHSA.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:08, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Community Service Programs, Incorporated, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Community Service Programs, Incorporated seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Community Service Programs, Incorporated, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Project talk page tagging for WP:VIET

[edit]

Blnguyen had requested me for the service of TinucherianBot to tag articles in the categories in Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam/Categories for the WikiProject Vietnam. I request the members to kindly have a look , carefully verify ALL the categories and remove all the possibly wrong categories. Please Dont misunderstand by being cautious here , as we have faced many issues with such huge scale bot tagging earlier. Once I get the final go ahead, I will start the bot with the final list. Thank you for choosing TinucherianBot for the project,. It is a pleasure working for this project...I have also left a note at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Vietnam#Project_talk_page_tagging and request your comments there. The article Shinsadong Tiger has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi. When you recently edited Shinsadong Tiger, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kpop and BEAST (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). The article Ali (Korean Singer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. DYK for NBA 75th Anniversary Team

[edit]

On 23 November 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article NBA 75th Anniversary Team, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the NBA 75 includes the only league MVP who was not among the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/NBA 75th Anniversary Team. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, NBA 75th Anniversary Team), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello Amiaheroyet, I think we should move Cho Da Lat to Chợ dêm đà lạt as 1) It's the original name and 2) It is more common.Leomk0403 (Don't shout here, Shout here!) 04:16, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Cho dem only refers to the night market, not the entire market. The sign says Cho Da Lat in the picture and all sources in Vietnamese and English only refer to Cho Dem Da Lat when discussing the activity at night.Amiaheroyet (talk) 06:51, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your article was duplicated

[edit]

Notifying you that Permission to Dance on stage, a duplicate of your original article Permission to Dance on Stage, was created by a new user called DXMarco254. They just copied and pasted it for some inexplicable reason. I have nominated it for immediate deletion. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 03:59, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for writing the Lumpens page. You did a great job!

During my work on the translation of the page I came across several questions, can I ask them? Estyxxxx (talk) 09:26, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
