Wikipedia's LGBT Community

Hi, Amalas!
You've indicated through various means (a userbox, membership in a category, etc) that you are part of the Wikipedia LGBT community, or are interested in Wikipedia's LGBT related pages. Welcome!

You may not know that Wikipedia has both an LGBT Notice Board and an LGBT Studies WikiProject. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at both of them. They sorely need attention and participation!

Some things on the "To-Do List" that merit particular attention include:

  1. Identifying topics/pages that need attention
  2. Identifying problems that need addressing
  1. Adding the LGBT template to appropriate pages
  2. Categorizing LGBT pages

Please feel free to participate in any or all of these activities! And if you feel like it, add yourself to either the Noticeboard Members or the WikiProject Participants - or both!

Glad you're a part of Wikipedia - and Thanks! This invitation posted here by SatyrTN -- talk

Billiard-stub

Hi Amalas! I just discovered cuesport-stub had been up for deletion (my creation). My fault of course--was really needed but after the discussion went on for a while with some support, I never followed up, categorized it and replaced it in the articles where all the too specific stubs were improperly languishing. Anyway, I'm glad it was kept in some form as we really did need a generic stub. My question is, why wasn't it categorized and moved, preserving its history, since it is still the stub I created under a new name? It's really not a big deal, but usually I think where edit histories can be preserved, they should be. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit 00:36, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Upmerge?

Excuse me for asking, but why would the result be upmerge instead of tie [1]? Where should the category be upmerged to if it were going to be upmerged? Thanks. — Instantnood 19:38, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Upmerged to China, obviously. SchmuckyTheCat 21:04, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Last names

http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&offset=20061019194214&limit=50&target=Amalas What are you doing? Why did not you sort the articles? Do you know people articles are usually sort in to categories by last names of the people? Passer-by 21:31, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Stub deletion debate

Hi Amalas. As a result of the various TV networks SfD debate, the four network stubs will be deleted. I am still new to the process, and it is apparent you have had other discussions concerning this that I have not read. For the past week, I have been going through the decade subcats of Category:American television series, checking every article for three specific things, one of which was stubs. If the article contained no stubs but was in need, I added the rather generic {{tv-stub}} (even if it was not the perfect-choice, I felt it at least put the article in the stub system). I skipped many articles because they were already stubbed with above that will be deleted. Does this mean I will need to go back, find all of those articles, and restub them? Sorry if the question seems a bit simple. WP is such a large place, even concerning getting information on how to use it or remembering codes, I often cannot find answers that I need. Thanks for your help. -- CobraWiki 20:36, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Cornwall stub proposal

Hi, I hope you can help. I proposed a new Cornwall stub, and have now created it (Cornwall stubs). It now has about 200 entries, in addition to the about 400 in Cornwall geo stubs. I understand that I am meant to move the discussion from the proposals page to an archive - but don't know how to do this! DuncanHill 16:37, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Stub category redirect

I'm assuming we did't need to keep the category redirect at Category:Politics of Hong Kong stubs; problems emptying it have been fixed now. (Job queue issues again, I think, and I forgot to go back to it for a while after my initial upmerging edits.) Alai 06:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
