Harassment
Hi Alison. You've helped me on occasion in the past with oversight issues and tracking down block evaders and I really appreciate it. I have a completely different issue now. I'm being harassed through a subtle form of outing. I'd like to discuss it with an admin offline. How do I go about doing this? Should I submit an OTRS ticket? Thanks in advance. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 06:29, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there. If it's privacy-related, can you email me, please? We can take this off-line - Alison ❤ 07:08, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- It is privacy-related but impatience got the best of me so I submitted an OTRS ticket yesterday. I'll e-mail you if I need any additional help. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 16:21, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. Sorry about the delay in replying. My new job has me very busy these days and I'm not on WP for nearly as much as I used to be. Hope OTRS folks can help you out :) - Alison ❤ 18:30, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Ha, no need to apologize. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 18:37, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Alison. You protected this page some weeks ago, but the protection has expired. Because the TV show Big Brother is concluding this week, would you kindly extend the page protection through this weekend? After that, we should be ok. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:52, 24 September 2014 (UTC)

- Thanks for letting me know. I've actually gone ahead and suppressed that edit, per policy. Not okay at all! - Alison ❤ 23:15, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry for butting in here uninvited, but I am watching "Franke Grande" and saw the edit Ssilvers brought to your attention. Thank you for suppressing it. Regarding the editor in question, they have been blocked before for edit warring, in addition to being warned numerous other times regarding their edits on that particular page. I am all for everyone getting a second chance and am really trying to hard to keep assuming good faith. Honest mistakes are fine because we all make them. Even occasionally intentionally mean-spirited stuff can be overlooked and ignored as long as they are acknowledged and not repeated. This particular editor, however, still does seem to get that such edits/behavior is simply not appropriate for Wikipedia. I don't want to sound like a fuddy-duddy, but this kind of stuff, in my opinion, shows a serious lack of maturity and I am not sure how much rope this person needs to keep being given. - Marchjuly (talk) 00:46, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Hey. Thanks for the move/merge. :-) I must say, I'm a bit dismayed by the apparent cultural acidity toward new articles (or perhaps toward old users) around here these days... it's giving me plenty to think on, in any case. Hope you're well. --MZMcBride (talk) 16:21, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your edit to Weev. I was unsure about the reliable source policy. Would it be possible to link to the article without making any assertions as to its content? Hebrew Warrior (talk) 02:25, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there. Not really, per WP:ELBLP and per WP:BLP as it could be considered quite disparaging. You'd need some pretty hardcore, reliable sources before you can brand a living person as a neo-nazi - Alison ❤ 02:27, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Ah, typical drunken Irish bitch. If you even are a bitch. You might even be a man, or an...intersexual thing.
The Irish are anti-Semites who side with the Arabian imperialists in order steal the Jewish homeland. You scum recognize the fake "State of Palestine," an illegal Arabian colonial entity on Jewish land.
- It's really hard to care, Jeremy. I've largely moved on from Wikipedia & shite like this doesn't bother me. I couldn't even be bothered reverting it, to be honest. You - you, on the other hand, are still here after almost a decade of wasting your time lookup up proxies. Your fail is writ large on Wikipedia - it truly is. Grow the fuck up and move on already. Noone cares any more - Alison ❤ 08:20, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- You know very little about Jewish life in Ireland, BTW, which is kinda sad given you and your mom claim to be Jewish. Sixth president of Israel?, Gerald Goldberg? etc etc. Ireland has a rich, Jewish heritage - Alison ❤ 08:24, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, a rich, Jewish heritage. Annals of Inisfallen, 1079: "Five Jews came from over sea with gifts to Toirdelbach, and they were sent back again over sea." There's the rich medieval Jewish history of Ireland. By the seventeenth century, there were a few Jews living in Dublin, with a single synagogue. Since 1891, the number of Jews in Ireland has always been fewer than 4,000. Then we get the Limerick pogrom—oops, ahem, "boycott"—and non-intervention during World War II and indifference to the Holocaust. Post-war, Jewish groups had great difficulty in getting refugee status for Jewish children, whilst at the same time, a plan to bring over four hundred Catholic children from the Rhineland encountered no difficulties.[33] The Department of Justice explained in 1948 that: "It has always been the policy of the Minister for Justice to restrict the admission of Jewish aliens, for the reason that any substantial increase in our Jewish population might give rise to an anti-Semitic problem." Oh, and that Israeli president you mentioned? "On July 18, 2014, a window of the synagogue in north Belfast was smashed. The day after, the replacement window was smashed too.[46] Less than a month later, a house in the city with a plaque honoring former Israeli president on it was targeted by anti-Israel protesters who threw items on the house, scrawled racist graffiti and tried to take down the plaque with a crowbar. Eventually it was removed by the community out of concern to the residents living in neighboring houses.[47]" And you people seem to have problem with accepting Muslim "refugees"—hordes of them. And allowing the powerful Islamist lobby to influence Irish foreign policy, such as calling Israel "racist and apartheid" and recognizing a fake Arabian settler-colonist entity called "State of Palestine" that is illegally occupying Judea and Samaria.[3]
- Awesome. Can you get some sources other than Wikipedia, y'know? How many Jewish Lord Mayors of Dublin have there been? Why don't you run along and tell me then - Alison ❤ 03:24, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

Infringement of athlete's page
Hi Alison would you mind blocking a user from accessing one of my clients page? User: 2001:18E8:3:10B1:5114:4D26:78BF:915F vandalized the page Emmanuel Adewole on 4 September. I have gone ahead and edited the page, but would like to prevent him or any other user from making changes to the page without consent. I know you have check-user status and am hoping for your help in dealing with this case. Thanks

Rev/Del question
Hello Alison. I hope that you are well. I came upon the edits by this person today and I am wondering if they meet the criteria for rev/del. While they are more adolescent nonsense then a specific attack I am thinking that they do bump up against WP:BLP. Thanks for your time and enjoy your weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 21:02, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi MarnetteD. Thanks for the note. You're absolutely right as those edits are WP:BLP violations and come under WP:RD2, for revision-deletion. I've gone ahead and rev/del'd them now. Thanks for letting me know, and thank you for keeping watch over BLPs! :) - Alison ❤ 21:14, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- You are most welcome. I always appreciate your checking on these and filling me in on what qualifies (and what doesn't) for r/d. Thanks again. MarnetteD|Talk 21:37, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

- Ugh :( I have very strong opinions on this subject matter and can say straight up that cutting the genitalia of any infant without a very clear and immediate medical reason, is an act of violence. As an admin, I don't think I can stay neutral on a topic like this, so you should probably look for someone else. I might as well point this out from the get-go - Alison ❤ 19:45, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

MRKH Photo
Hi Alison - not sure the best way to get your attention. I'm writing about the MRKH page. The photo that is posted is not the best photo that "shows" the syndrome. In fact, if a newly diagnosed child types in "MRKH" into the website and this photo appears it can be rather scary (and offensive) to see especially to a vulnerable child. I would ask that you please remove the photo and replace it with another one that is more tactful for the internet. I would appreciate your support in removing the photo (on behalf of all the women and children with this syndrome). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucky978 (talk • contribs) 13:39, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
I always cringe a bit when I see people insulting vandals/bad faith users in edit summaries. They strive for a reaction and you losing your cool is exactly what they want. Reverting and semi protecting talk? Yes. Insulting the bad faith editor with words like 'douchebaggery' or 'hypocrity'? No. It's not anything against you, just that I'd rather administrators be setting the example. Revert, blocking and ignoring them (WP:RBI) is what I advocate for. Tutelary (talk) 02:46, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Cringe away. Same guy has been doing this since 2007 and has never slowed down. I'm largely done with here these days, and RBI doesn't work on some folks. 8 years an admin at this stage and getting tired ... - Alison ❤ 02:52, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Article "Doye Agama" - Now Speedily Deleted - Request for Copy
Hello Alison. I see you are listed as an editor willing to consider providing copies of deleted articles. Could you please provide me with copy of the deleted article "Doye Agama", so that I can work on it with a view to making it acceptable. I regret the article has been judged unsatisfactory, and deleted. Archbishop Agama is certainly notable, in various ways, being (for just one example) the current moderator of the Forum of Churches Together in England.
