[edit]Hello, I'm TechnoSquirrel69. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, George Daniels (watchmaker), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 06:55, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! I noticed you're making a lot of edits at George Daniels (watchmaker). Thanks for sharing your expertise, and I'm glad it looks like you're getting the hang of including sources! I notice, though, that the section "Later life and the Watches made by George Daniels" goes into a lot of detail. An enyclopedia (like Wikipedia) is meant to be a brief overview of a topic. I think the article would be a lot more useful to a general reader if each of these watches had, at most, one sentence which drew attention to the most interesting thing about each watch. Also, be careful not to violate the copyright of Sotheby's catalogue by repeating what they say without distilling it; see this info about close paraphrasing. If you have any questions about my suggestions, let me know. Happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 21:03, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks so much. I am paraphrasing but was concerned the detail was available as there is nowhere on the web you can do so. Is there a way I could summarise each watch but keep the content and footnote it some how? Alfie5890 (talk) 23:58, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- My preference is to leave what I have done as is. It will only be watch nerds who will read this page and high level would not cut it for those readers. They will want absolute detail. I have had 400 views since I started editing and I think what I am doing is appreciated by readers. Please consider. Alfie5890 (talk) 09:00, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- 600 views :) Alfie5890 (talk) 09:10, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
