Your review
[edit]Thank you for your review and comments. It helps to understand Wikipedia rules and expectations. I can add to the text: "Lothane have been named as a recipient of the 2011 Thomas S. Szasz Award in the professional category for Outstanding Contributions to the Cause of Civil Liberties" with an internal link to Thomas S. Szasz on Wikipedia. According to International psychoanalysis(http://internationalpsychoanalysis.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/LothaneSzazAward1.pdf), the "Professional Award is given to a specialist, such as psychiatrist, physician, psychologist, sociologist, or economist, who has made advances in civil liberties on a theoretical or practical level." I will be working on gathering more information. Kind regards, Tama Tamakay (talk) 23:06, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
Genco Music
[edit]Umm, excuse me but you have no reason to deny the creation of the Wikipedia page I've created. It is a page about a record label that has recently started up that I do not own. However, I am apart of it. You have absolutely no reason to deny me the creation of that page. It's not a conflict of interest. And it's about a reputable company with employees. I think you're just being selfish and abusive of your power. Unless you give me a justified explanation of why this page cannot be created, then I am taking this matter above your head. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kweiss1993 (talk • contribs) 01:22, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- A notice was placed at the top of the page that set out the reasons for declining the submission. To be notable enough to merit an entry on Wikipedia, a subject must have received "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" (WP:GNG). The only reference given was to the company's own web site, which is not independent, nor is it reliable for the purposes of establishing notability (though it can of course be used to prove certain facts about the company itself). No company is inherently notable, and you should make sure that the company satisfies the guidelines on notability (organizations and companies) before resubmitting the article for creation.
- I should also mention that writing about a company with which you are associated might give rise to a conflict of interest, and so you should consider reading this page, which offers advice "for new editors who want to write and edit Wikipedia articles about a subject they are affiliated with." Original Build detailing an aviation TV show called The Flightline
[edit]Is any part of my page about the Flightline TV show acceptable or do I need to completely start over??? Please advise & thank you Spike1962 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spike1962 (talk • contribs) 01:36, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- I can no longer see the original page that you submitted, but if memory serves all of it was copied and pasted from a copyrighted source, which isn't permitted on Wikpedia. Please see WP:CFAQ for more information. If you'd still like to create an article about the television show, you'll need to write it in your own words, and also show that the subject is notable enough to merit an entry on Wikipedia. The simplest way to do this is to provide evidence of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" (WP:GNG). If you need any help with this, or anything else, feel free to visit the Teahouse, which is a friendly forum for new editors. Alexrexpvt (talk) 01:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Queen Mother Dr Delois Blakely Deletion
[edit]hi this is my first post on wiki for " Dr Delois Blakely " so please lets me know if i made any mistakes. Thank you. I saw that you have deleted my sandbox and an article for Queen Mother. I worked for her and she gave me rights to use her pages and images and information directly. You can call or email her at queenmothernews@gmail.com or (212) 368-3739.
This is her facebook page http://www.facebook.com/QueenMotherDrDeloisBlakely/info and these are her own websites http://newfuturefoundation.com/about/board-and-executives/ http://queenmamaafrica.com/History/history.html
I spent 7 days working on her wiki-biography and she also saw and approved the information on it. Please lets me know if you can reverted her page back. Thank you for your time . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Minh0409 (talk • contribs)
- If the copyright owner wants to "donate" the material to Wikipedia, she should follow one of the procedures set out here. If you look at the section on "Granting us permission to copy material already online", you'll see that the simplest way to release the material is to put the appropriate "copyleft" notice on the web site. The alternative is to email the appropriate department at Wikipedia. If permission is granted to use the material, you'll still need to ensure that the tone of the article is neutral; and that reliable, independent, secondary sources are used to establish notability and to verify any factual claims. Biher-Tigrinya
[edit]Yeah, I'm aware that page. However, the Biher-Tigrinya are a separate ethnic group in Eritrea. For some reason they were added in a page about the Tigray ethnic group in Ethiopia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CanadianForever1 (talk • contribs) 19:58, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, the Tigray-Tigrinya article is about the Tigrinya ethnic group, and the "Tigray" of the title refers simply to the region; the Tigray (or Tigre) themselves are the subject of Tigre people. I see from the Tigray-Tigrinya talk page, which you can see here, that the name of the article has been the subject of constant dispute, and I'm not sure that creating a second (or third) article on the subject would be helpful. A way forward would be to propose on the Tigray-Tigrinya talk page that the article be renamed to avoid confusion, though it does seem that a consensus was reached in the past to keep the name Tigray-Tigrinya. (If I've misunderstood the situation, feel free to correct me). Alexrexpvt (talk) 20:19, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- Let me jump in to clarify a little. User:CanadianForever1 will agree that Biher-Tigrinya people (which is what the article should be called if we follow naming conventions so far established) share a common ancestry with the Tigray-Tigrinya_people. However, they are now considered a separate ethnic group. It is therefore completely legitimate to create a separate page for them. አቤል ዳዊት (Janweh) (talk) 20:31, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- Although all neighbouring peoples worldwide display a common ancestry, I wouldn't really say the Biher-Tigrinya are 'now' considered a separate ethnic group. They pretty much always were. But I agree. There needs to be a separate page for them.CanadianForever1 (talk) 20:42, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- Of course, I don't mean they suddenly came from think air. I just mean they are now recognized as a seperate ethnic group አቤል ዳዊት (Janweh) (talk) 20:48, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've looked again through the sources you provided in your AfC submission, and the sources listed on the Tigray-Tigrinya people and Tigre people pages. Most mention only Tigrinya-speakers and Tigre-speakers, but this source suggests there's a tripartite division in play: the "Tigrinya of Eritrea", "the Tigray [...] of [the] Tigray [...] Province of Ethiopia", and "[t]he Tigre of Eritrea", although it says the first two are "culturally and linguistically" identical.
- The existing Tigray-Tigrinya article, then, effectively discusses the first two groups, and the third group is covered by Tigre people. Your argument, I presume, is that the Eritrean Tigrinya, or Biher-Tigrinya, should have a separate article. (This of course also raises the question of whether a separate page should be created for the Tigray subgroup). In principle I (now) can see no reason this shouldn't be the case, but it's still contingent on finding reliable sources that discuss the Biher-Triginya as a distinct ethnic group. (As far as I can tell, the existing sources, though they're specific to Eritrea, mention only a distinction between Tigrinya- and Tigre-speakers, without discussing the Biher-Tigrinya as an ethnic group distinct from the Tigray.) If you can do that, then resubmit the article for creation and I'll happily create it, although I see that you're a registered user, and can create a new article without going through the AfC process.
- If you have the time and inclination, you might want to add some text to the top of Tigray-Tigrinya article spelling out the difference between the three groups. Alexrexpvt (talk) 21:34, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Vacuum Polarization
[edit]There's no approval process for changes to articles, as such. Just click on the edit tab at the top of Vacuum polarization, which allows you to edit the whole page, including the first paragraph, or one of the section edit tabs to the right of the page; make whatever changes you think are appropriate; add a brief description of what you've done in the "edit summary" field; then click save. It's no different from working on the page in your sandbox. The simplest thing is probably to copy and paste the work you've already done into the article itself, being careful not to remove the category tags at the bottom of the page. You might find this guide helpful. You can also get help from experienced editors at the Teahouse. Alexrexpvt (talk) 16:27, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know how to make the proper minor edits. I have done so. Thank you.
- I have removed my original question/discussion post since your answer below has covered all the issues there raised.
- Now I would like to know how do I clear my Sandbox. At the moment my sandbox is "cluttered" with my previous NEW page request which we both know was a mistake, has been withdrawn, and is over so I'd like to move past it and remove everything from my sandbox so it is cleared and ready for new work. I don't see any clear Delete/Clear/Edit section on my Sandbox in order to do any of those actions. please inform.
- I have merely "edited" my sandbox page and now my sandbox is indeed "empty" but the banner across the stop still reads about the attempt to create a NEW page for vacuum polarization which is no longer necessary. May I ask how do I remove even this title banner on this now empty sandbox?
- Thank you very much Muonphysicist (talk) 15:41, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- When you submitted your page to AfC, the content was moved to another page and a redirect set up on your sandbox. I've removed the redirect, so you should be able to use your sandbox again. Alexrexpvt (talk) 14:29, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Afc/Mike Glowacki
[edit]The article was created because musician has release an album and Wikipedia is a great source to find out more information. I have added the list of songs with references to the Copyright Encyclopedia for verification. Please re-review the article. Thanks and Happy New Year! Here is the link to the article: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Mike_Glowacki Best Regards, Annamarie Annamarie Blaha (talk) 17:33, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that releasing an album doesn't in itself make a person notable enough to merit an entry on Wikipedia. Please have a look at the notability criteria for composers, which you can find here. You'll see that you need to provide evidence that the subject has written a "notable composition", where "notable" means that the composition "has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" (WP:GNG); or that one of his compositions has won a major award, influenced a notable musician, or received nontrivial coverage in "standard reference books". Entries made by the subject on copyrightencyclopedia.com aren't reliable or independent for the purposes of establishing notability. Alexrexpvt (talk) 18:12, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
The article contains factual information written and verified with Mike Glowacki regarding his education and history. The article is informational and is not an advertisment. What recommendations do you have to make the article worthy of being an entry on Wikipedia? As a consumer I look to wikipedia for all sorts of information and I would look to wikipedia for information on Mike Glowacki. Thanks for all you help! AnnamarieAnnamarie Blaha (talk) 19:19, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- In principle, you have to show that the subject satisfies the general notability guideline at the very least, i. e., that he "has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject"; and also that he satisfies the notability guidelines for composers, which I mentioned earlier. Unfortunately I think it's unlikely that the subject, as a church music director, small-business owner, and composer of a non-notable album, meets the criteria. See also WP:ENEN.

I made changes to the above article as per your recommendations.
Are these changes sufficient? If yes, how to I resubmit it?
Raanan — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.145.181.216 (talk) 03:53, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- There should be an automatic link on the page itself for resubmission, near the top somewhere. If there isn't, just add {{subst:submit}} to the very top of the page and save it.
- I see you've added two citations to the page: the first is a list of conventions; the second an event listing in a local newspaper. I suspect that this isn't enough to satisfy Wikipedia's general notability guideline, which requires that a topic receive "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", the key word being "significant". If the article were approved as it is, there's a good chance someone would nominate it for deletion. Before resubmitting the article, you might want to get a second opinion on whether the subject is notable enough by asking a question either at the Articles for Creation Help Desk, which you can find here, or at the Teahouse, which is a friendly place for new editors to ask questions and get support. Flying Elephants Short Story Prize
[edit]Hi there, I am not sure of protocol -- are you the person to contact? I have re-written this article twice, and obviously I am missing something, because it has been declined twice. Please could you give me the heads-up as to what copyright infringement I am making. Thanks, Chirene — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.167.145 (talk) 09:20, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- I don't see a copyright violation at the moment, but I suspect a previous version of the page was deleted because it contained copyrighted text, perhaps copied and pasted from somewhere else. I declined the article because the subject doesn't seem to be notable yet, and I left a note to that effect on the page itself, which you can see here. Wikipedia's basic and most general notability guideline says that a subject is presumed to be notable enough to merit an entry on Wikipedia if it "has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". That doesn't seem to be the case for the short story prize. Alexrexpvt (talk) 09:31, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I noticed your comments on the Taulia article for submission (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Taulia). I made the suggested edits.
Can you please review the page again and see if it now qualifies for approval?
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.116.73.66 (talk) 18:46, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- I see that you've added new references, but they seem to suffer from the same problem as the old references: they're not independent of the company: either they're hosted on the company's web site or they're press releases, with the possible exception of the Xconomy article, which nonetheless seems to be a rewrite of a company press release. A company normally has to be "the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources" to be notable enough to have an entry on Wikipedia. If you can't find sources like that, it might be a sign the company isn't notable enough at the moment, though it might become notable in future. If you'd like a second opinion, you can add {{subst:submit}} (including the curly braces) to the top of the submission, which will place it back in the AfC queue; or you can ask at the Articles for Creation help desk. - It may be real, but claims about "unmedicated schizophrenic[s]" and "kill[ing ...] English scholar[s]" need reliable sources for verification. In the absence of such sources, one really has no choice but to assume this is a flagrant hoax. You're free to rewrite the entry without those claims, and with reliable sources. [edit]You reviewed article submitted on Olivia Chaney a few minutes ago. Please could you help me by letting me know which sections you feel require further substantiation?

Juniduke (talk) 21:37, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
- At the moment the only given reference is to the subject's own web site: obviously one can claim anything on one's own web site, and for that reason Wikipedia generally requires reliable, independent, secondary sources. These are necessary for two reasons: (1) to establish the subject's notability; (2) to verify any factual claims. I see that you've mentioned MOJO and Bearded Magazine in the article, but I wasn't able to find any mention of Chaney on those web sites: if the reviews are only to be found in the print editions, it would be helpful if you made the references a little clearer, perhaps by giving the date and page numbers of the reviews, so that other readers can verify the information. Judging by the reviews mentioned on her web site, it shouldn't be hard to find other reliable sources. You might find this guide to referencing useful. Once you've added reliable references, feel free to resubmit the article for review by adding {{subst:submit}} (including the curly braces) to the top of the page then saving it. Adrian von Ziegler
[edit]Hello, Alexrexpvt
Thank-you for recently reviewing my first Wikipedia entry ever : the one about Adrian von Ziegler (composer).
You have left me the following message : "Please see WP:COMPOSER in particular. YouTube generally isn't a reliable source; coverage in reputable newspapers or the like would be better.".
First, I agree, generally speaking, YouTube isn't a reliable source, and referencing from YouTube won't necessarily bring out valid information. Please be aware that I have consulted WP:COMPOSER, and indeed, this composer meets the criteria for having a page on Wikipedia.
Then, I would like to point out that absolutely all the sources come from Adrian von Ziegler's YouTube channel: the one he uses to post his music and the one he used to get popular. The videos I used to reference the page are the ones Adrian has posted on his own channel, in which he answered to some of his fan's questions. The questions were asked via Facebook, but Carina, Adrian's beloved, who appears in the video, puts them into words, and Mr. Ziegler responds to each of them.
I would like to thank-you for reviewing Wikipedia pages and for helping the community grow, but I would like you to please review (and eventually approve) my Wikipedia entry about Adrian von Ziegler (composer). I assure you all the information is 100% valid as it comes directly from the person in question. I have worked hard to make this page, and am still working on getting a non-copyrighted picture of Adrian. Please understand that I wish only the best to Wikipedia, and I would never post something that is untrue and/or based on opinion.

- If you believe the composer satisfies one of the criteria in WP:COMPOSER, you should first of all make it clear which criterion he satisfies: has he, for instance, composed a notable work or won a major award? You should then use reliable, independent secondary sources to prove it; you might, for example, use articles in reputable newspapers or in peer-reviewed journals or books. The composer's own YouTube channel is not independent, and therefore is not reliable for the purposes of establishing notability, although it may of course be used to verify certain factual claims. Thank you.

The Older Gamers
[edit]Apols for that - I had clicked submit way too soon and then thought "no worries - I have a week to do it what with reviews taking ages". But then it was done within a day ;)
I'll resub once I have more detail in the article inc citations and references. Apols again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stumanaus (talk • contribs) 08:32, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Re: User talk:Louisdoe#MBCT MBCT article in French

Indeed the page exists in English but I am writing one in French, please reconsider! because we need this article in France and other FR speaking countries. (I am new to wikipedia templates, sorry if I messed up ;-) ) The title of the article is in English, because it is now used as a proper name in English in France "MBCT". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Louisdoe (talk • contribs) 13:11, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
An escaped article
[edit]Please would you pop over to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tastic Film, make whatever addition you feel appropriate to the discussion (or none at all) and guide the editor concerned. I am leaving you this message because you reviewed the original article in AFC as 'not yet ready', but a desire for it to see the light if day appears to have overtaken the originator. UN block.
[edit]I see that you blocked username PinnacleCollege. That is fine. does this mean the page is blocked too? I don't know what is the status of the page. Do I need to recreate it? I don't need the username unblocked. Thanks for all your help though. I really appreciate it. Salyounis (talk) 03:53, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
- I didn't block it, but Alexf did. It won't affect Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Pinnacle College, which is still waiting to be reviewed. There's quite a long backlog at the moment, so it might be a while before someone reviews it. An easy way to keep track of changes on the Pinnacle College article is to use the watchlist feature: on the article itself, click on the little star that's near the "edit" tab to add it to your watchlist; you can then access your watchlist by clicking on the link at the top right of the window. This will show you the most recent changes to the page. There's a guide here. Alexrexpvt (talk) 12:09, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Trouble finding page via google search
[edit]Hello,
Thanks for editing this page! Since it's been up, I've noticed that the page is searchable with the accent over the E but not without it. Realistically, people will search through a search engine without the accent over the E. Is there anything I can do to improve this?
Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it.
Warmly, Elyse

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity
[edit]Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
