Re: Pitlane start
I'm actually unsure about that myself. I've started a new section at WT:F1 to get more views on this rather than being bold and change it. Your views are welcome at the link. Regards, D.M.N. (talk) 14:55, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Please keep a check on these two as they are being vandalised with table format layout, the editor has been warned but hes continuing doing that.inspector 17:02, 22 September 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Inspector123 (talk • contribs)
- Hi, Inspector123, yes, i will. But few things, first don't use your IP to edit, you already have account, so use this account just simply to avoid SOCK. And don't hit UNDO four times, simply if that is the latest edit, you can revert to earlier version (see WP:REVERT). Any help, please contact me. --Aleenf1 17:15, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I deleted this page after you tagged it for CSD as a test page, but it looks like the article MCM/70 is a real article, and that the talk page isn't just an odd sub-page of Talk:MCM. It looks like a reasonable request, actually, so I've restored it. The / in the title is screwing things up, I think - but I don't know how to work around that. I'll ping the VPT and see if they know. Just an FYI, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 14:01, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Team descriptions
Thanks a lot for giving CBS the idea of "Southern Belles" for a team relationship, when the teams were first released. It would have been "Best Friends" but your changing it to "Southern Belles" (not a relationship) ruined it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.102.61 (talk) 23:50, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
flags in airline destinations lists
People are useless adding flags to these lists making them look confusing and messed up please keep a check on this so far I have found Air India, Air India Regional, Nepal Airlines, Indian Airlines, Alitalia, Turkish Airlines, Aero Mexico, Aeromexico Connect, Mexicana and Click Mexicana there may be more.203.81.232.64 (talk) 14:27, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, so much, i have to do it slowly later on. So, i know, flagicons is prohibited in Airlines Project, so if you wish to correct, please add
"remove flags based on [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Style guide#Flag icons]]"
in edit summary. Good luck. --Aleenf1 09:29, 19 October 2008 (UTC)- Some has re-added flags to Turkish Airlines destinations despite you removing them and adding notice.116.71.44.175 (talk) 16:40, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Rosiana and Resiana
Hello, Aleenf. I'm revising the articles on Indonesian badminton players and I'm wondering if you can help me. Would you know if Rosiana Tendean and Resiana Zelin (whose name is sometimes listed as Rosiana Zelin) are different people? Could they possibly be the same person (a married name)? If you can help me I'd appreciate it. Regards. Badmintonhist (talk) 19:32, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Good work, Aleenf. Your research tells me that they are definitely two different ladies. It also gives me dates of birth for the article. Regards. Badmintonhist (talk) 15:13, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
3RR warning
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Amazing Race Asia 3. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.
I'm sorry that I have to do this, but there is such a rule as a 3RR violation, so I have to mete this out on you as well. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 08:13, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Response to "Some comments..."
Please get this right. Some of the comments you read were NOT by me. Look carefully. The comment about Wiki not suitable for you was written by the unregistered guy. Do realize that there were 2 main sub-sections in the discussion page. The one on top was by that guy. I had no participation in that. The one below was mine. I even signed off everytime I posted. So please don't blame me. And I never did say you were childish. Please read carefully. I said THE FIGHTING over this was childish, not you. BUT, you have to admit that some of your faults in this conflict were that:t
1) you refused to give in to another person's opinion who might be right (and honestly, I felt he/she was right as well) and kept on reverting edits rather than start a discussion, and hence causing PAGE-PROTECTION.
2) you kept on saying that people were attacking you when there wasn't any attacking to begin with!
3) you DID try to to play up sympathy and/or threaten to leave helping TAR pages just to get what you want and for people to agree with you.
I'm just trying to clarify the definition of "task" and also try to let you see that sometimes, you should consider what others are thinking as well. Yes, you are more experienced but spare a thought for the rest who also want to contribute. There is no intention to hurt anyone's feelings and the term "childish", I feel is not a strong enough term for an insult, nor was it meant to be as it wasn't even directed at you in the first place.
And FYI, no one is chasing you away. PLEASE stay and help on the TAR articles. The only thing is I hope you can show more compassion when you want to revert NON-VANDALISM edits.
Thanks. DanielTAR (talk) 23:16, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
FURTHER REPLY. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
FIRST OF ALL GET THIS RIGHT... I DID NOT TYPE THIS:
If you really think something like "everyone think(s) he is not wrong" and giving up everything after meeting an opposite view, then Wikipedia is not really the best place for you as you are refusing to accept the fact that consensus is a foundation that builds up Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a community that are being shared by more than one person.
It will never be you lose, and everyone wins after you have decided to give up putting efforts. Everyone will lose coz I am thinking that your continuous efforts at the part of reverting vandalism and constructive editings must be thanked by a lot of users here. They can observe it without doubts. But the rule is there, we are less easily to remove things here than adding things. If the consensus turns out to be on your side, in my view, the other side shouldn't be considered a "lose" because at least the people involved have put their effort to figure out a consensus and they have tried to be their role in the community.
I DID NOT WRITE THE ABOVE. IT WAS NOT ME. IT WAS ANOTHER PERSON. STOP BLAMING ME FOR THIS.
Let me just quickly address the issues over here:
1) I cannot interfere with your conversations? It's on the TARA3 DISCUSSION page, open to everyone. If you wanna have a personal/private conversation, USE THE PERSON'S TALK PAGE. As far as I'm concerned, your discussion was about TAR. And I have every right to interfere and voice my opinion. AND... the ONLY part I commented was under YOUR SUB-SECTION asking what is the definition of a task. I said what I said and that's it.
2) It is not wrong to have page protection but it is wrong if it's over a personal feud over you and that other guy, that is prohibiting me from editing it CONSTRUCTIVELY. And I asked for the removal of protection because several people, including me, have already FORMALLY defined what an Additional Task was. 3) The discussion only got personal because of the actions you took. Don't deny it but you were the one who first started the "everyone doesn't appreciate me and I'm gonna leave. you go handle all the TAR issues yourself" in the first place. Who the fuck asked you to leave anyway? If you can't accept constructive criticism, then fine, leave. But don't try to make people feel guilty because it's disgusting.
I tried to make it right and explain the situation thoroughly. But either you can't understand what I wrote or you just blatantly want to stir up trouble. I don't have time for this. I have my O Levels right now and can't be bothered to deal with this. Stay to contribute on TAR wiki pages if you want. If you don't want to, then bye.

2000 Singapore Open
Greetings Aleenf1. Here's a puzzle for you. The list of winners for the 2000 Singapore Open seems to be about a decade off. Players such as China's Huang Hua and Li Yongbo and Tian Bingyi were no longer playing internationally then. Bambang Suprianto was a doubles specialist by that time. Perhaps you could investigate who actually won in 2000, and what year, if any, the set of players now listed for 2000 actually won. Maybe 1989? Regards. Badmintonhist (talk) 21:44, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your effort, anyway. I'm going to go ahead and delete those results and replace them with "results not available." Unless 2000 was a special "old timers" tournament those winners don't make sense. One other question, and you may already know the answer to this one. Are Joko Suprianto and Bambang Suprianto brothers? Same last name. Born in the same city a couple of years apart. If you already know or can find out I'd appreciate it. Regards. Badmintonhist (talk) 15:05, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for trying anyway, Aleenf1. It's no big deal. I was curious and would have put it in their articles if I knew it as a fact. Regards. Badmintonhist (talk) 16:34, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Lee Chong Wei
Hello Aleenf1. I'm currently working on the articles on (mainland) Chinese players, but I'll take a look at Lee Chong Wei's article. However, I may want to change other things about it besides the grammar, so don't feel insulted if I try to change some things that you don't want changed. I find that too many of the articles on current players contain personal and "trivial" kinds of information, as if an encyclopedia article is no different from a blog or an on-line forum. Also, sometimes there is too much information, while at other times there isn't enough. I think the articles should concisely summarize the highlights of a player's career and (if it can be done accurately) briefly describe his [her] playing styles and strengths, and that's about all. Badmintonhist (talk) 16:25, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Christmas Greetings, Aleenf1! For what it is worth, I would give you the following advice: Because players play hundreds of matches and (if they they are among the very best for a substantial period of time) dozens of finals, I wouldn't get into the habit of including the scores of their matches. If the score has an unusual story behind it (such as the match between Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan at the 2006 Malaysia Open) that's different. I think that the biography articles should summarize a player's career, rather than give a running account of each tournament that he or she plays in. Regards. Badmintonhist (talk) 22:33, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Aleenf1, thanks for all your tagging work. It's always a judgment call, but I'd say in maybe 1 out of 10 orphaned talk pages you tag, there is content on the page that needs to be transferred to the article creator's talk page before the article should be tagged for deletion. Badminton Super Series
Hi Aleenf1, thanks for leading the Wikiproject Badminton. The Super Series came to Singapore where I live, so I got a bit caught up editing and looking at all the Super Series pages. I found these pages informative. but as always, there is room for improvement. I'm actually looking at the Tennis pages for inspiration, mainly the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 page as a guide to the BWF Super Series page, and the various Grand Slam tennis pages as guide to the various tournament page of the Super Series. And I have a few suggestion:
- Include the results of all the tournaments, showing just the winners, from 2007. This serves two purposes. One is to allow readers to find the winners info more easily. Also currently the page does not have any link to the various editions, so the inclusion could also serve as a link.
- Create a infobox for the Super Series with all the years of the Series in it
- For tournaments, list the winners and runners-up, as well as score of the final, for ease of reading.
I'm also trying to test and see how my suggestions will look, without affecting the current pages. Any idea how can I go about doing it? Thanks for your attentions, and do help me to see whether there are any suggestions from the others in the Wikiproject group. I believe that with collective effort, we can makes things better. And do contact me to feedback me on my suggestions. Many Thanks. Frankie goh (talk) 05:42, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Aleenf1, thanks for your reply. I think we can replace the Super Series Ranking section with the results, like you did for the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Gold event. I will do some testing now, and will keep the group inform if I think I have any good ideas. Thank you!Frankie goh (talk) 13:54, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Badminton Oceania logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Badminton Oceania logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. File source problem with File:The Amazing Race Asia host.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:The Amazing Race Asia host.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Fair use rationale for File:The Amazing Race Asia host.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Amazing Race Asia host.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. Go
Hi Aleen, I really enjoyed our Go (game)s today. Sorry, but I had to go (no pun intended!).
You played very well, and were picking up the rules excellently, I thought.
Hopefully we can play again soon. In the meantime, some links for you!
Click on: Go Clubs & Players in Malaysia - note that Go is called wei-qi or wei-chi in China, and I think maybe Malaysia too. (It's called Baduk in Korea, and Igo in Japan, but Go throughout America & Europe).
Every Go club I have ever attended - throughout the world - has always been _delighted_ to meet new players & introduce them to the game, & help them improve - a very friendly crowd always.
Click on: Rules_of_Go
"Though 19 × 19 boards are standard, go can be played on another size board. Particularly common sizes for quick games are 9 × 9 and 13 × 13.
Beginners might prefer to play on a 9 × 9 board to start. The nature of the game remains similar enough to make this worthwhile, yet the games are shorter. For beginners, playing longer games is less important than playing a greater number of games."

That should keep you busy until we can play again. Tomorrow, same time (approx.)? Oh - and there are better internet Go servers for Go than Yahoo, where lots of players are on-line, wanting games.
I'll try to catch you in en-help as usual. All the best, take care, T9. --Trafford09 (talk) 14:37, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Easy Go-playing game called Igowin
Just had a thought. If you were bored & had 5 mins, you could download an easy-to-play-against Go game called 'Igowin'.
I know lots of people who've downloaded it - from here.
It's recommended by a very trusted website
It says "It is free copyrighted software. You may give it away or sell it."
It only plays you on a 9x9 board, but it's very good, and gives you what it thinks is the fairest number of handicap stones.
At first, it assumes your grade is 25-kyu (a beginner), so it gives you 5 stones.
Then, as it sees you improve (when you beat it, which you will on your first game - trust me!),
it gives you a new rank (say 24-kyu), & reduces the number of handicap stones it gives you.
I wonder what rank you can get it to give you!
Have a go if you've got 5 minutes - it's free & fun. You'll enjoy it. Regards, Trafford09 (talk) 15:54, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
