Hi. When you recently edited Istanbul modern tram, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page LRT (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Unable to solve banned IP

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. @Ivanvector: per m:Help Forum. Ail Subway (talk) 12:02, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have successfully contacted us. You don't provide your home IP so we can look into this. If you don't want to post it publicly, you may use WP:UTRS to provide it privately. It is possible that a prior user of your IP had a proxy running. It's your business if you don't wish to purchase dedicated internet access, though you will run into problems like this if you don't. 331dot (talk) 14:14, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hi, My current IP is apparently banned on July 11 with block ID #24970551 by @Ivanvector However, I was able to edit en.wikipedia pages prior to monday (November 2nd): https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:Contributions/Ail_Subway Turkish ISP's uses IP blocks due to congestion. And I thought that might be the reason. I filled an appeal and it says "Looking at our logs, it appears the IP address that you are editing from belongs to a proxy service. Open or anonymizing proxies, including VPNs, iCloud Private Relay, Tor, and web hosting services, are blocked from editing Wikipedia. While this may affect legitimate users, they are not the intended targets. No restrictions are placed on reading Wikipedia through an open or anonymous proxy. Although Wikipedia encourages anyone in the world to contribute, open proxies are often used abusively. MediaWiki, the wiki software that powers Wikipedia, depends on IP addresses for administrator intervention against abuse, especially by anonymous users. Open proxies allow malicious users to rapidly change IP addresses, causing continuous disruption that cannot be stopped by administrators. Several such attacks have occurred on Wikimedia projects, causing disruption and occupying administrators who would otherwise deal with other concerns. Unfortunately, you will not be able to edit while using this open proxy." However, I'm not using VPN or any other extra network services. I've already restarted my modem but my IP didn't changed (I've talked to the network service, they told me the modem typically selects it from only 4-5 options.) I've contacted stewards and they told me "Only the English Wikipedia volunteers could help you with one of their blocks.". Unfortunately I'm not sure where I can contact them. I don't want to buy static IP service since it's extra. I was able to send this message thanks to work network. Would appreciate your help. Ail Subway (talk) 12:02, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@331dot: I did respond to the help thread on meta and asked the user to post here. I'm looking into it. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 22:42, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, the block that's affecting you was actually placed by Yamla on July 11, that's why I couldn't find it. I modified it on November 12, and that seems to be why my name is attached to the entry, and still nothing comes up for me when I try to look up the block ID. Anyway, that's one of the blocks that's affecting you. One of the networks you use is also globally blocked, which is a block that applies on all Wikimedia wikis and can only be done by stewards on meta. You aren't the target of either one of those blocks, but I also can't undo them. Instead, I'm giving your account a local IP block exemption, which will allow you to edit here from a blocked IP as long as you are logged into your account. Please note:
  • This exemption only applies to English Wikipedia - if you are having the same problem on the Turkish Wikipedia or on any other wikis, you will have to request an IP block exemption from administrators on that wiki.
  • I am granting the exemption for six months. If you experience the same problem again after the exemption expires, you can request a new exemption. If you are not able to edit your talk page here, please use the unblock ticket request system.
  • IP block exemption is a userright that can be revoked if it is abused. Please read the guideline at WP:IPBE.
Thank you and happy editing. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 23:09, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your effort!
Thankfully my modem decided to give me a different IP on monday night when I restarted and I was able to edit. But exemption will help if same IP assigned in the future.
Best wishes! Ail Subway (talk) 13:25, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
