Certainly an impressive labour of love, and worthy of contributions by others. I hope to be among those in due course. My preliminary comment would be that the PAC and associated orgs need more acknowledgement, and also that the capitulation of the apartheid regime was in a context where the Cold War was ending, and where that regime had received a bloody nose in Angola, as well as experiencing depletion in its supply of recruits. All the best! Michaelgraaf (talk) 16:29, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is the most balanced and accurate account of South Africa's liberation struggle I have ever come across. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fanezile (talkcontribs) 11:33, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2022

[edit]

Information icon Hi Agus Damanik! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Oh sorry, i wanna abort it cause sometimes my hands works faster than my brain. Sorry about it and thank you for the reminder. Agus Damanik (talk) 21:59, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

PubChem

[edit]

Hi Agus, thanks for your message. A couple of comments: first, I am fallible, and my edits are hardly flawless. Second, a lot of us chem editors do use PubChem because it is easy and it's not behind a paywall. Some of us find its information spotty. By the grace of luck, I have access to virtually everything so enjoy the luxury of access to great sources that few outside of academia can see. --Smokefoot (talk) 22:17, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's okay. Thanks for the correction. I really need verifiable information. Keep contribute and free the knowledge Agus Damanik (talk) 22:23, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on Sri Parmini

[edit]

Hi Agus. I'm in the process of fulfilling your request for copy editing on Sri Parmini, and I've just finished the first round of grammar checks. I am a bit confused by this sentence in the third paragraph of the "Career" section: "Indonesian National Armed Forces called this promotion as "special gift for Indonesian Army Women's Corps", coinciding with its recent celebration of 48 years of Indonesian National Armed Forces on December 22, 2009."

Is the phrase "48 years of Indonesian National Armed Forces" the official name of a special event/celebration, or was it just an anniversary of the founding of the Indonesian National Armed Forces? Is the date "December 22, 2009" the date of the celebration, or the date on which this statement by the Indonesian National Armed Forces was made? Thank you! Liu1126 (talk) 11:19, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think I wrongfully add the name, what I mean is the anniversary of Indonesian Army Women's Corps. Let me fix it. It's only normal anniversary, it's not the name of an event. Agus Damanik (talk) 11:31, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've just finished replacing the redlinks in the article with interlanguage links to the Indonesian Wikipedia pages. There is one that I'm not quite sure of: does the "Army Counterintelligence and Cryptology Service" refer to the id:Pusat Intelijen Angkatan Darat? That was the article that was used in the same position in the Indonesian article, but it isn't an exact translation. Liu1126 (talk) 11:41, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, i think so, someone moved it from "Dinas Pengamanan dan Persandian" which i think it's different government body. I don't know who move the the article in Indonesian, but i follow this book to translate the Indonesian term into English. Agus Damanik (talk) 11:51, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I believe most of the article has been cleaned up. Just one last thing: the article is inconsistent on whether she had died in 2022 or not. On the Indonesian article, someone had added her death information without adding a source ([1]). If you can confirm whether this is true or not, I can make the final edits. It would also be great if you could find a source for it, as I'm not familiar with Indonesian-language sources. Liu1126 (talk) 14:14, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
i already removed the death date cause i can't find any source which contained the death date. Thank you for the fix. Agus Damanik (talk) 14:17, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All done, and I've marked the article as copy-edited. If you need another revision (such as for GA or FA selection), you can contact me or other members of WP:GOCE. Thank you for all the work you've done! Liu1126 (talk) 14:35, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Agus Damanik,
I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out to you again as I've encountered some challenges with the Aneeqa Bashir Wikipedia article I've been working on. Following your previous advice, I created the article, but it was recently moved to draft space. The reasons cited include the need for more sources to establish notability, language and grammar improvements, and a possible conflict of interest.
I assure you that I do not have any personal or professional relationship with Aneeqa Bashir; my interest in creating this article is solely due to her notable environmental work. Regarding the sources, I have primarily used reputable ones like Dawn, The News International, and Geo News, but I am open to suggestions for additional reliable sources from Pakistan.
As a new contributor to Wikipedia, I am earnestly seeking your guidance on how to improve the draft to meet Wikipedia's standards. Specifically, I would appreciate your advice on:
Additional sources that could strengthen the article's notability.
Tips on ensuring the language and grammar meet Wikipedia's editorial standards.
Any other advice you might have for addressing the concerns raised and successfully moving the article back to the mainspace.
Your expertise and support have been invaluable to me, and I am grateful for any further assistance you can provide.
Thank you very much for your time and guidance. Afshaaan.ahmed (talk) 05:29, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
it's like resume. Just ask the person who delete your article Agus Damanik (talk) 05:45, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your feedback regarding the Aneeqa Bashir article. I understand your concern about the article resembling a resume and I am keen to revise it to better align with Wikipedia's encyclopedic style.
As you suggested, I will reach out to the editor who moved the article to the draft space for specific guidance on how to improve it. However, I would also greatly appreciate any additional advice or tips you could offer to help refine the article and address the resume-like tone.
I am committed to making the necessary changes to ensure that the article meets Wikipedia's standards for neutrality and encyclopedic content. Your expertise and assistance in this process would be invaluable. Afshaaan.ahmed (talk) 05:50, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Make it encylopedic and don't make it feel you worship the figure. For example, just write that she do activist for banyan tree without writing that it's good activist. Agus Damanik (talk) 05:52, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your advice! I get your point about keeping it encyclopedic and neutral. I'll revise the Aneeqa Bashir article to focus just on the facts of her activism, especially her work with banyan trees, without adding personal opinions about it. If there's anything specific that needs changing, just let me know. Really appreciate your help! Afshaaan.ahmed (talk) 05:54, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
