I'm thinking you're right on nominating it for deletion. I say we include the information in it either in the Russell Island (Michigan) article, or about Algonac, Michigan article, or the Walpole Island Ferry article... but I feel the Russell Island article is the best fit. I second the congratulations! Who knew such a lowly road through a podunk gambling town could one day be one of Wikipedia's finest articles? Good job. Glad to see some meaningful activity again in the realm of UTSH... CL (T · C) — 01:09, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

username violation
After many years of contributions, my account has been locked today by you due to a username violation.
Looking through the policy, the only thing I can guess was wrong was the email domain that used to be attached.
I can use this one instead, which does not have a domain attached, but I don't want to loose my prior contributions.
I attached the unblock line with this username inserted at the bottom of my talk page. Is there more to do? Thanks.

Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors
Hi! I noticed your activity as a Good Article reviewer, and wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors in the coming term. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:18, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

GNG for streets
You PRODed Oak Street (Vancouver) with a mild GNG note, but I'm not sure it would be any more or less notable than the many roads that are mentioned only in gazetteers or similar works. Are there further guidelines above GNG that might be used here? Maury Markowitz (talk) 13:55, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Most streets are not notable under the WP:GNG, but I would probably be ok with any sources added to the Oak Street article. --Admrboltz (talk) 16:58, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm asking more generally... what makes a place notable? Things that happened there? For instance, if someone was murdered that lived on the street, that shouldn't make the street itself N. Young St. is at the other end of the scale, because it has various records and mentions historically. But what about the vast majority of roads and streets which aren't as famous? What should we use as our bar? Maury Markowitz (talk) 17:05, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- See U.S. Streets notability guidelines for some generic ideas, though streets such as Peña Boulevard, which is notable as the only entrance into Denver International Airport and is a full freeway for its entire length. --Admrboltz (talk) 17:09, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Rest Areas
Hello, I added a section for rest areas in U.S. Route 74, which I have understood could be considered a Service (optional section), that is available for travelers that utilize US 74. The rest areas are maintain by NCDOT and have been referenced. So I'm confused why they were removed as Non-Notable. Thanks for your time. --WashuOtaku (talk) 19:37, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- WP:USRD has determined that rest area's are not notable. Services sections are only usually reserved for Toll roads, e.g. New Jersey Turnpike. Admrboltz (talk) 19:52, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not disputing its there, just can't find it specifically at the moment. Can rest areas be incorporated in the route description then, possibly as a sub-section or at least briefly mention within the text if applicable? --WashuOtaku (talk) 20:02, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- In the rd yeah that would be fine, something like:

USRD and CRWP maps by best article
I updated the USRD map so you can edit it in a text editor like I said I would. Just save the map and open it in Notepad or similar editor. Each state's coding now has a class parameter which corresponds to the assessment data. Also, Floydian mentioned in IRC that you were going to do the same map for CRWP, so I said I would do the same for Canada. I only realized afterwards that you had already uploaded the map. I don't want you to think I'm stepping on your toes over these two maps. –Fredddie™ 01:36, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

County Road 611/McMullen Booth Road
I took off the deletion for County Road 611 (St. Lucie County, Florida) because it was the wrong county for what I had discussed. I don't know why the article for St. Lucie County would be deleted, I've never discussed it, and I don't know why I received a message about it. I had suggested the deletion of County Road 611 (Pinellas County, Florida). I don't want to wrongly delete the St. Lucie County article if there hasn't been anyone else to discuss it. Added template for SuggestBot
Hi,
Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.
We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.
We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 17:38, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello !!
Hello Admrboltz - though its non of my business - I am wondering what has prompted you to leave WP:Canada. I see by your edit summary you say your efforts are unwanted. The reason i am asking is i am concern that someone from the project has led you to believe your contributions are not wanted. - I may return if the streets-pushers get their own project similar to how WP:USRD and WP:USST are split, however I am tired of being accused of WikiStalking, and being forced to keep crappy non-notable city streets in the encyclopedia because of all the inclusionists arguing that every single street in every city in Canada are notable. --AdmrBoltz 21:03, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Douglas Road is/was not a street

On 12 February 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article U.S. Route 11 in West Virginia, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that both Interstate 81 and U.S. Route 11 in West Virginia roughly follow the Warrior Path, an old Indian trail through the Eastern Panhandle region? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Negar Mottahedeh
Hi, on your recent edit, you closed the discussion as "no consensus". Could you explain why?Farhikht (talk) 16:08, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- Two keep votes and two delete votes, after it was relisted seems like there was no consensus to me. --AdmrBoltz 16:10, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- As I know we can't reed Nipsonanomhmata's vote as a Keep. Harrypotter's vote also is another argument that should be avoided in deletion discussions. I think that it should be relisted again (or even deleted).Farhikht (talk) 12:36, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Feel free to take it to WP:DRV. --AdmrBoltz 15:21, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will do it.Farhikht (talk) 17:36, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

What happened here? I didn't see anything at WP:RFC/NAME or WP:UAA, and it is not clear exactly how the username policy was violated. I fear that this user just got bitten. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 05:42, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- No but it was most defiantly a promotional account. And per the blocking message, our username policy can not reference a company / cause name. --05:57, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

File:Outer View of Central Jail Faisalabad.jpg
Hi! After reviewing the contributor's other photos, I'm confident that he is the one who took the File:Outer View of Central Jail Faisalabad.jpg photo.
Is it alright if I move it to the commons? I think he meant for it to be CC-BY-3.0, as all of his other pics have that license. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:53, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- The only problem I have is that you are assuming the license. The image was deleted because the contributer did not license the image. Tariq babur (talk · contribs) has edited recently, I would double check with him first. --AdmrBoltz 00:18, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I posted a message at User_talk:Tariq_babur#Images - I understand that he did not post the license, but from my examination of his edits, apparently he simply forgot to or didn't realize that he needed to post the license. I'll wait and see if I hear back from him. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:25, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Backlog
If you're interested, I'm going through the RJL-attention backlog. I figure a couple days of attention will clear it out.
Yes, I'm aware I still have to look over the ACR. –Fredddie™ 20:59, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- Cool, I was working on the infobox needed one, though I will prob work on the Canada infobox backlog too... --AdmrBoltz 23:43, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

re: [1], this results in an image being tagged as a non-free image on a page without a fair-use rational. Is this part of a bigger plan, or was this a mistake? Dave (talk) 00:36, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
- nvm. I see Fredddie created another version without the copyrighted elements. Dave (talk) 00:52, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
- Right'o, I had him create it when I was working on Peña Boulevard. --AdmrBoltz 01:17, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

March 2011 GAN backlog elimination drive a week away
WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of March. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 50. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, we hope we can see you in March. MuZemike delivered by MuZebot 00:39, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

On 24 February 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Interstate 470 (Missouri), which you created or substantially expanded. /* Disposable Diaper Development */
Hi I am new to this and not sure how it works. My mother is valerie hunter gordon who invented Paddi. My family noticed that on the internet the facts about diaper nappy development are hopelessly inacccurate. One person puts the wrong thing and with copy and paste the wrong information goes viral. I am trying to remedy this by putting the correct, accurate information out there. I know it is correct because my mother is very much alive and the company (Robinsons) who made Paddi for her have recorded the whole story in books plus huge amounts of other information. They no longer are in the nappy business and gain nothing by my telling this story. I want history to be recorded accuratly. I am obviously doing something wrong as my entries keep being deleted but I dont understand why. Please can you help me here. I always understood that the purpose of Wikipedia was accuracy Best Wishes Frances — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fross81 (talk • contribs) 19:50, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
- The information you are adding unbalances the rest of the article. Perhaps try reducing the sheer volume of information into a verifiable paragraph. --AdmrBoltz 20:08, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
