My contribution to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Bernard_Leach was just a mistake... I must have done something wrong without realising!! Surprised about how easy it is :( I tried to revert everything I did when alerted I had done my "first contribution" to wikipedia...) Lauren Southern
Good morning/afternoon/evening(don’t know your time zone,) Can you please provide another citation/link to Lauren Southern’s page when you talk about her views on women’s leadership? The link leads to The Australian, but no actual article. Also, please do not remove my other edit without providing a valid reason. Thank you, J072318 J072318 (talk) 17:23, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- J072318, there is no requirement that such a link be provided. WP:AGF, for instance, asks us to accept that cited articles are legitimate, even if not internet-accessible. I see now that you've been in hot water before and I suggest you stay out of it. Drmies (talk) 17:31, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
Disruptive Editing........
Can you explain this please? Level 3 Warning Thanks --RebeccaSaid (talk) 19:03, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- @RebeccaSaid: Oh since you removed content without explaining why so I’d like to remind you of that. Regarding the level 3, Pharaoh of the Wizards left a level 2 warning earlier this month so Huggle automatically made it level 3 (Bad luck :P). Next time if you wanna remove content or shorten an article please explain in your edit summary since RCPs will not know what are you doing and they will not bother the check the talk page before they revert and warn. Removal of content without adequate rationale is disruptive editing. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 23:01, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hilarious! So you rush to issue warnings to new editors for a simple, and pretty irrelevant, error? No assistance? No advice? That's probably one of the reasons this toxic project struggles to retain editors. Anyway....... --RebeccaSaid (talk) 23:39, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- @RebeccaSaid: Need assistance? Either go to WP:HD or WP:TEA. My advice is use edit summary for EVERY SINGLE edit. You think it’s irrelavent because you didn’t even bother to read policies or guidelines and create disputes. Well you can ignore me and continue to not use edit summaries, it’s up to you. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 00:29, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello! How could I have improved on my edit?
I made an edit on the Matrix (communication protocol) page. I wanted to leave a link that explained what 'other implementations' exist, but it wasn't an edit made in confidence. Would you mind suggesting how the edit should have been made? I'd find it useful :)

Sin Perdón Info
Hi there,
My name is Ismael Bustamante. I tried to edit info related to my band "Sin Perdón" from Chile because basically is incomplete and some information is just wrong. I have been playing in the band for more than 15 years. I would like to improve the information available and help to put in the web correct and wider information. My email is bustamante.ismael@gmail.com
If you could help me to update the info, pictures, songs and all the info which appears as official, but it is not, I will really appreciate it
Thank you in advance

Undid revision of page A23 -- I think you made a mistake
Dear Abelmoschus Esculentus,
I got a message from you to say you had reverted my changes to the page A23 because they were "not constructive". I was simply correcting a typo as identified in moss. In this case, the page says 'antigenetically' but the explanation in the second part of the sentence is for 'antigenically' and the wiktionary page for 'antigenically' is cited. As a PhD student in genetics, I can assure you that 'antigenically' is the correct word here. I hope you do not mind that I undid your reversion; I am new to wikipedia editing and do not want to step on any toes.
Many thanks, Sherlotte (talk) 12:45, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Sherlotte: Ok thanks for reminding me. I quickly searched the dictionary and it doesn't have this word (so I reverted it). Hope you be a great editor in the field of genetics! ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 12:49, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Change to Iain Hastie
I have attempted twice to make a change to the spelling of my uncles name. I have also amended his country of birth to scotland and date of death 31/7/2018. Place of death New Zealand. I do not understand why you will not accept these changes. I am just trying to correct public record. Thanks. Brian Hastie

About Ty Dincer
Hi there,
I am writing with regards to this page -- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Dincer_Ty.
There's a few things which are concerning and should be deleted.
The controversies written around Ty Dincer (criminal conviction and corruption allegation) is proven to be untrue. I am happy to provide the official police clearance certificate (through another channel), but due to Wikipedia link protection policy, I can't share it with this message.
Also, on the section on Ty Dincer's personal life has zero citations and references, and are therefore, defamatory. As such, I'd strongly encourage you to take down such paragraphs on these sections:
- The introductory paragraph which says -- Dincer left Abu Dhabi Investment Council amidst conviction of criminal charges by the Abu Dhabi Court and corruption allegations.
- The sentence in the "Career" section which says -- In June 2018, Dincer left the company amidst conviction of criminal charges. Dincer was also suspected of corruption.
- The sections on Controversies (Criminal Conviction and Corruption Allegation)
- The sections on Personal Life
Side note -- Many of the citation links within this Wikpedia entry (such as this one -- https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/property/the-aussie-mafia-doing-billiondollar-deals/story-fn9656lz-1226780853669?sv=9a7ff746ef151d4626388d223d7c4584) are also not working at all, or irrelevant to Ty Dincer (such as this - https://nypost.com/2018/01/05/man-allegedly-put-hand-in-womans-pants-while-she-slept-on-flight/)
And final note -- The original Ty Dincer page (see link -- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Ty_Dincer) has been taken down too.

Please look at the history of changes to that article, and you'll see that an editor called GenuineArt reverted only one of a series of bad edits by an IP address. I reverted the rest of them. Blue Iguana
Hello AE
You have just deleted my contribution to the Blue Iguana page.
I typed " or for the 2018 Sam Rockwell film Blue Iguana type in the search box " Blue Iguana 2018".
As the film has the same name as the animal there is an issue with having the film appear on a search so people can read about it.
I have read the disambiguation page on wikipedia and can't fathom them out, perhaps you could help?

- (watching) I agree that that revert was (unsurprisingly, perhaps, by now) a misuse of rollback; but, UnofficialEditor1, verifiability is not just policy, it's a pillar of Wikipedia, and you really shouldn't be adding unsourced material—particularly to biographies of living people. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 10:56, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

I also suggest you read User talk:Oshwah#Hello. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 11:20, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Fundamentally, rollbacks such as this, and particulalry combined with assertions such as this one indicate a wholly unsatisfactory understanding of basic policy: viz, WP:V, which is a core prerequisite for being granted the tool in the first place. - There is no justification for your misunderstanding of WP:V&. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 12:17, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- But you didn't provide evidence that I am misunderstanding WP:V. I identified the edit as vandalism at first, not a WP:V issue, and I explained it to the user as a mistake made by myself. I admit that the ALLCAPS is kinda irrelevant, but I mentioned nothing about WP:V. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 12:27, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

- As mentioned in the thread in Oshwah's talk page,
using rollback to revert what you legitimately believe is vandalism to find out later that it isn't is different than misusing the tool to revert edits that rollback isn't allowed to be used for is different
. Also, the diff you provided (i.e. the revision I reverted) is not addition of content, it's a change of reference. Since WP:V only applies to content (not to references itself), therefore it is unrelated IMO. Have learnt a lesson already ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 11:42, 15 August 2018 (UTC) - (talk page stalker) The relevant policy says, "contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion". Of the edit in question, is stating that Lijo Jose Pellissery collaborates with Prashant Pillai contentious? Not obviously, but maybe it is for reasons I don't understand. In any case, Abelmoschus Esculentus's revert was a good-faith edit to preserve the quality of the encyclopedia, but I don't think it unquestionably falls into edits covered by the rollback guideline. And the reason for that in this case, is rollback doesn't allow you to provide a edit summary, and so UnofficialEditor1 had to come here, scratching his head over what the problem was. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:38, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Ritchie333: My edit summary for that is "Reverted edits by UnofficialEditor1 (talk): not providing a reliable source (WP:CITE, WP:RS) (HG) (3.4.5)", not the same as standard rollback. I also left a level 1 template at the user's talk page. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 11:46, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Evidently it wasn't enough though; if it was, you wouldn't have this discussion on your talk page. Anyway, I have found a source and added it to the article, so I think all's well that ends well. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:51, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. Actually I have prepared a template before, used in situations which one complains me for reverting their edit and claims that the information added is correct:

- == Why do we need to provide reliable sources? ==
- All content in Wikipedia must be verifiable. Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and will not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source.
- Citing non-reliable sources such as fan pages or self-published pages which may be biased violates our neutral point of view policy.
- Unsourced or poorly sourced material may damage the reputation of living people or existing groups.
- Wikipedia does not publish original research. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it.

enantiomers
Whether you think it helpful or unhelpful what I wrote was correct, whereas the original to which you have now reverted is/was meaningless - anyone editing a page with the word 'enantiomer' in it should understand what it means and have already corrected the meaningless entry, makes the whole enterprise kind of pointless if you delete edits pointing out errors, but if you prefer to have a superficially nice sounding entry which means nothing then knock yourself out
Telesystem Submission
Hello Abelmoschus Esculentus,
I recently submitted an article for Telesystem. You who a response saying that the copy sounded as an advertisement rather than a neutral point a view. Telesystem has 2 sister companies that were cleared on Wikipedia with similar content. I am not sure why this one was denied? Would you be able to give me an explanation as to what to fix in order to resubmit?

Hello, are you aware blackface is not something you learn in South Korea? This is why many idols have done the same mistake. Since you have enough time to "protect" this page, why don't you also look up big bang and other groups who have done problematic issue?
Administrators' newsletter – August 2018
News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2018).
- After a discussion at Meta, a new user group called "interface administrators" (formerly "technical administrator") has been created. Come the end of August, interface admins will be the only users able to edit site-wide JavaScript and CSS pages like MediaWiki:Common.js and MediaWiki:Common.css, or edit other user's personal JavaScript and CSS. The intention is to improve security and privacy by reducing the number of accounts which could be used to compromise the site or another user's account through malicious code. The new user group can be assigned and revoked by bureaucrats. Discussion is ongoing to establish details for implementing the group on the English Wikipedia.
- Following a request for comment, the WP:SISTER style guideline now states that in the mainspace, interwiki links to Wikinews should only be made as per the external links guideline. This generally means that within the body of an article, you should not link to Wikinews about a particular event that is only a part of the larger topic. Wikinews links in "external links" sections can be used where helpful, but not automatically if an equivalent article from a reliable news outlet could be linked in the same manner.
- The WMF Anti-Harassment Tools team is seeking input on the second set of wireframes for the Special:Block redesign that will introduce partial blocks. The new functionality will allow you to block a user from editing a specific set of pages, pages in a category, a namespace, and for specific actions such as moving pages and uploading files.
Orlando: a Biography
Hi, I did spend a great deal of time trying to sort out the section called 'Analysis'. You have now reverted to the form it had before, which contains the following problems: 1. It is all in one undifferentiated section, which is extremely long to wade through, without subheadings to steer the reader. 2. It contains a lot of material taken from a fairly limited number of sources, and not all of the strongest academic quality. 3. It has no real order, launching in with a comment about the Romany which, while interesting, is too specific and narrow to be the first point. 4. There are a number of repetitions.
So, I was intending to sort it out. I have spent some time trying to re-order the material, but without making any radical changes to the content. All I have done is to re-group it, add a few minor points of detail and remove some of the repetitions. As a consequence, I merged the material with that form the previous, very brief section. I also changed the title from 'Analysis' to "Themes' because that is the more common title for this sort of section for many other classics of English Literature. Obviously, the next stage would be to revise the material in stages, since this is a more hefty operation but I suspect that many readers have just thought the task too large in its original form. I hoped that, in this form, it would be easie for a number of contributors to improve this article enormously. I would also intend to add at least one more section, on the theme of the house that is central to the novel, Knole. If you look at my plentiful additions and revisions to that article on Wikipedia, you will see my approach.
For these reasons, I would like to ask you to return the text to my version, knowing that this does no harm to the body of the article at present, makes it more intelligible and navigable, and begins what will no doubt be a long process to improve the strength of the article. To revert obvious vandalism and other edits where the reason for reverting is absolutely clear
~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 12:22, 6 August 2018 (UTC)- WP:VANDALISM says otherwise: It has to be
deliberately intended to obstruct or defeat the project's purpose
