Welcome back, Oschus! The editor whose username is Z0 14:52, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Z0: Thanks! Gotta keep pages clean ;-) ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 14:54, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
You left a message on my page. Actually some unknown ip address remove all his infobox and tables and added unsourced materials too. He made 2 edits out of which one was undone by me but other one was not done due to edit conflict. You can see that page, its now looking weird. Will you can do something.
My edits
I'm trying to correct false info about me on this site as its causing me a lot of problems. Mainly that I keep getting legal documents with the wrong names on them. Why do you keep reversing my edits? 2600:1700:4E30:2ED0:DDD0:C960:7CEF:1F05 (talk) 00:12, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- Seems there isn't a single reliable source in that article. Also, editing the article about yourself isn't a good idea. If you find a reliable source, please let me know and I'll help you add it, do not add them by yourself. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 00:25, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Hey, would you mind articulating to me why you undid my edit?--123.161.170.169 (talk) 03:11, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- Since there’s a Chinese translation in the lead section, we generally don’t put that again in info boxes or other places. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 05:27, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- I'm afraid what you say is probably not an established norm and is policy-baseless since notable Chinese individual articles like Chiang Kai-shek, Mao Zedong, and Sun Yat-sen (alphabet order) all have their Chinese names in the infoboxes.--123.161.170.169 (talk) 08:22, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- I would like to remind you that in articles Mao Zedong, Sun Yat-sen and Chiang Kai-shek, the simplified Chinese is the HEADING of the infobox (perimeter is "native_name"). In your case, it's within the perimeter "birth_name". The officeholder infobox and person infobox is different. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 16:01, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Famousbirthdays.com as a source
Hi Abelmoschus Esculentus. I noticed that you recently used famousbirthdays.com as a source for information in a biography article, Brad Falchuk. Please note that there is general consensus that famousbirthdays.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 17:30, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- As an additional note, per this policy, full dates of birth for WP:BLP subjects are only included if they are widely-published in multiple reliable sources. As Ronz mentions above, tertiary sources such as famousbirthdays.com (and other online databases such as IMDb) fall far short of our reliable sourcing criteria.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:35, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- Ronz Ponyo Thanks for reminding me this. I didn’t know that there was a discussion about it. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 00:36, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

You were too quick to delete my addition. I was still working on it and hadn't finished. This was the start of a lot of changes with sources.
It was also the summary first para at the beginning of what was to follow. The sources were to be included in the detail later with a lot more information.
Have to go now, so will resume another time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gartonsmith (talk • contribs) 02:43, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Out of curiosity, who is User:Clazroom a sock of? Primefac (talk) 12:17, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
Also, as a minor note, if a page has external links that are sources, declining as "no sources only elinks" is not valid. Having badly-formatted references is not a reason for declining. Primefac (talk) 12:18, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: I tag that draft for speedy deletion because (s)he has been blocked by you because of promotional username (idk why you don't add "promotional edits" as the block reason) and the draft is created in violation of the block. I should have declined that draft as adv. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 12:24, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Eric Arnoux
Hello sir,
As you can see Mister eric’s Arnoux profile. As a lot movement too much for one single guy anonymous before approximately one year ago. The thing is some people create him a fake page with the references (blogs, after newspapers etc) who conduct this person in an investigation. But the same references used in wiki are the same made by the SAME people that they are using fake profiles on wiki. I think wiki should more verify the sources and specially the profiles of people. Everyone one can do a fake profile and write things in a bad way and missing a lot of informations. Not respecting laws, human rights. Contrary to these fake profiles I can proof what I’m saying but for that I need a way to send confidential paper (lawyers papers etc) to wiki for exemple justice decisions etc but it’s not the type of thing you post on internet for everybody.
If you can help me thanks a lot.

- An RfC about the deletion of drafts closed with a consensus to change the wording of WP:NMFD. Specifically, a draft that has been repeatedly resubmitted and declined at AfC without any substantial improvement may be deleted at MfD if consensus determines that it is unlikely to ever meet the requirements for mainspace and it otherwise meets one of the reasons for deletion outlined in the deletion policy.
- A request for comment closed with a consensus that the {{promising draft}} template cannot be used to indefinitely prevent a WP:G13 speedy deletion nomination.
- Starting on July 9, the WMF Security team, Trust & Safety, and the broader technical community will be seeking input on an upcoming change that will restrict editing of site-wide JavaScript and CSS to a new technical administrators user group. Bureaucrats and stewards will be able to grant this right per a community-defined process. The intention is to reduce the number of accounts who can edit frontend code to those who actually need to, which in turn lessens the risk of malicious code being added that compromises the security and privacy of everyone who accesses Wikipedia. For more information, please review the FAQ.
- Syntax highlighting has been graduated from a Beta feature on the English Wikipedia. To enable this feature, click the highlighter icon () in your editing toolbar (or under the hamburger menu in the 2017 wikitext editor). This feature can help prevent you from making mistakes when editing complex templates.
- IP-based cookie blocks should be deployed to English Wikipedia in July (previously scheduled for June). This will cause the block of a logged-out user to be reloaded if they change IPs. This means in most cases, you may no longer need to do /64 range blocks on residential IPv6 addresses in order to effectively block the end user. It will also help combat abuse from IP hoppers in general. For the time being, it only affects users of the desktop interface.
- Currently around 20% of admins have enabled two-factor authentication, up from 17% a year ago. If you haven't already enabled it, please consider doing so. Regardless if you use 2FA, please practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.
Your edit to Shilpa Anand
I'm not sure you looked very closely before making this revert. The edit you reverted did not add any unsourced info - it moved some existing unsourced info to another section, and removed one unsourced sentence (which your edit restored). If you feel like contesting the text about Anand's educational and work background, do so - it's not controversial, and this source supports her tech background even though there are no details there. The article could certainly do with some pruning, but please be more careful with your edits, and take more time to check what you are doing. Rapunzel Nabunzel
Hello, thanks for the directions. The truth is that I'm not sure what kind of references may have the relevance that you indicate, because I've already put several newspapers and festivals, and the film came to the cinema. But if that's not enough, you know it better than me. The truth is that I decided to write the article after I see that the short World's Finest, this appeared as related to Rapunzel Nabunzel in Google, and when I saw his tab in Wikipedia I was surprised that an unofficial fan-short (and that still use the Warner logo) may have a mention here. I thought that Rapunzel Nabunzel was in any case much more relevant. By the way, could I ask you to review the World's Finest article? I think that references are not too relevant. What do you think? Thank you very much. Miscelaniouse (talk to me) 6:04, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
re: July 2018
Hi AE,
I received your message regarding my edits on Deadsquad page. Thank you for rechecking it.
To address your concern, I edited the names because the actual article misspelled the names. I work for the band management, and I'm not sure how to cite an article regarding the correct spelling of the name. But if you can guide me through it, I will provide the citation before making another edit.
Another thing that I've edited was adding their record labels. For this issue, I will provide print citation from each of their albums. I've looked through other bands' profile, unfortunately I don't see any citation bracket on their infobox. Is it weird to do so? How do I work through this?
I would really appreciate your helpful guidance. I am new to editing Wikipedia and I'm sure I can use all the help I can get. If there's any improvement I can do, please do let me know.
Thanks, AE. Have a nice weekend! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JennTandijono (talk • contribs) 08:14, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- WebM video files have smaller file size but still be of the same quality. Creating WebM files will take longer time. [3]
- The new filters for edit review tools and interface for watchlists will leave beta. This was supposed to already have happened but was delayed. For most wikis this will happen on 9 July. For the rest it will happen on 16 July. [4]
- All wikis now use the Remex parsing library instead of Tidy. This could cause errors. You can help fix the errors. [5]
Problems
- When you rolled back an edit it could get both the
Rollback
andUndo
tags. This has been fixed. [6] - Rollbacks from autopatrolled users were not marked as patrolled. This has been fixed. [7]
Changes later this week
- When you edit a link in the visual editor there will be two separate buttons to change which page the link goes to (target) or its text (label). [8][9]
- On the mobile version you can find a link to an editor's contributions from their user page. Now this will work even if they haven't created a user page. [10]
- When you edit a discussion on the mobile version you sometimes get your signature automatically added. This will now not happen if you have already added a signature manually. This is to avoid double signatures. [11]
- Structured discussions toolbars will have more style options. [12]
- When you look at Wikimedia code in Gerrit there will be a new interface. It is on by default for new users. This is also true for developers. This is to make it easier to understand what is happening. [13]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 10 July. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 11 July. It will be on all wikis from 12 July (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 10 July at 18:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 11 July at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- Today all administrators can edit CSS and JavaScript for the entire wiki. There will be a new user group for editing CSS and JavaScript. Administrators will no longer automatically be able to do this. This is because it is a security risk when all administrator accounts can edit JavaScript even if they never plan to or do not know how it works. You can read more. [14]
- Page previews will be on by default for new accounts. [15]
