- What you need to understand is that "sources which are acceptable for confirmation of facts" and "sources which actually count toward demonstrating notability" are two different things. A source can be perfectly fine for the first thing, but fail to contribute anything toward the second.
- Reliable sources, for our purposes, are general-market daily newspapers in media markets of at least regional prominence, general interest newsstand magazines, academic journals, television and radio coverage, books and on and so forth. It's not press releases, regardless of what type of organization they're coming from, because those are primary sources. And itt's not student fraternity or sorority magazines like The Rattle, or student newspapers like the East Tennessean. Sources like that may be acceptable for some supplementary confirmation of facts after you've already covered off the basic notability question with adequate sourcing of the type I mentioned in the first sentence of this paragraph, but press releases and student media do not count toward accruing notability, so they cannot be the foundation of an article's sourcing.
- Out of all the sources in the entire article, the only two that actually count for anything at all toward demonstrating notability are the Chronicle of Higher Education and the Washington Post — but you're only citing one article from the Chronicle, and the Post isn't supporting any facts that would actually get him into an encyclopedia by themselves (it just namechecks his existence in a list of marathon finishers, and isn't actually substantive coverage about him.) So all there really is is the one Chronicle of Higher Education article, but one article isn't enough to get a person into Wikipedia by itself if all of the other sourcing is to press releases and student media.
- Hope that helps a bit. Bearcat (talk) 19:46, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

[edit]November 2015
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Mike "Greeny" Green. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted or removed.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Continuing to resubmit this draft without following advice is tendentious. You were advised to trim the "Awards" section, for instance. You were advised to add wiki-links, and added malformed wiki-links, suggesting that you didn't view it. Conflict of interest
[edit]As you revealed here, you are related to Mike "Greeny" Green and therefore have a conflict of interest. As such, I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and especially the section Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Declaring an interest, which has some instructions that you should follow. Note that the policy states that contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial or other relationships is strongly discouraged. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:55, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for the link. I will read it. I did know about discourage article about knowing subjects. I read and agreed to that before I was allowed to start. I have had other neutral parties read the article though and will continue to let them read/edit for neutrality.
- thank you

Thank you that looks like a good idea and I will use it. One question should I ask for edits of sections at a time or can I ask for help with the entire article, is that to much to ask?
Thank You Aagreeny4 (talk) 18:02, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, given that the article is currently a draft and is subject to review, it might just be easier for you to edit it directly. If and when the draft is reviewed and moved to the mainspace, you should then use the template to make edit requests. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:27, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. Sorry I'm a little confused. Since my article is nominated for deletion can I still edit and submit my article.
Then once it's accepted ask for edits, and I can't do that now?
Thank you! Aagreeny4 (talk) 19:48, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- You can still work on an article that has been nominated for deletion. Often, it is absolutely necessary to do so to assuage the concerns expressed in the deletion nomination. Since yo have a conflict of interest with this article, you would be best advised to use the edit request template were it in mainspace, but since it is a draft, your edits will be reviewed by an experienced editor anyway, so if I were you I would declare your conflict of interest on the article's talk page and then continue to edit it until you think it is ready for another review. Cordless Larry (talk) 20:26, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much, you were really helpful!
