Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Wikipedia:Requested articles/Business and economics/Companies/F-L, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, a subject of that article (specifically, Grid Dynamics). Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! โ€“โ€“๐—™๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น๐——๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—ฒ(talk) 22:42, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you.

AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist (talk) 23:04, 1 December 2021 (UTC) This is not a shared account, this is the only violation I see that would seem suspect for my username.[reply]
Your username violates this aspect of the username policy. I recommend you request a username change here, otherwise you may find yourself blocked from editing. โ€“ 2.O.Boxing 00:09, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please clarify this comment by user:FormalDude "(A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)". What changed in the last 5 months? AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist (talk) 17:50, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think FormalDude may have missed something or misinterpreted the policy. The section you're referring to would be WP:ISU, however, your username doesn't denote an individual person. It's a position (marketing specialist) within an organisation, which would be in contravention to Usernames that are names of posts within organizations, such as "Secretary of the XY Foundation", are not permitted, as such a post may be held by different persons at different times.
I'm not gonna bother taking the issue further as I'm not at all fussed, but somebody else might. โ€“ 2.O.Boxing 18:33, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Squared.Circle.Boxing: Well, I guess for the sake of arguing (and avoiding more work), I am "A" Marketing Specialist, not "The" Marketing Specialist. Maybe when I have time Ill change it for fun to "CorporateDrone456" to avoid anymore fuss, but I doubt Ill be making enough noise to warrant the fuzz lol AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist (talk) 18:58, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for changing your username. โ€“โ€“FormalDude talk 00:58, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose โ€“ e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken โ€“ you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits โ€“ please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 21:18, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

AGridDynamicsMarketingSpecialist (talk) 23:11, 1 December 2021 (UTC) Hi User:Theroadislong, happy to disclose using the form you provided if my use-case falls under this rule. I am certainly employed by the company I submitted to the articles for creation, but I do not write articles here and I do not get directly paid to be on here to get an article about Grid Dynamics up on Wikipedia. I have a salary and this is one thing that I am overseeing (the submission of the article about the company). Can you indicate if I do fall under the need to disclose?[reply]
Yes, you should disclose your affiliation with Grid Dynamics per Wikimedia's terms of use. โ€“โ€“FormalDude talk 04:54, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
