[edit] Hello, I'm Peaceray. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction, such as your addition to Fanny (1932 film). While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Why use the phrase ferme ta gueule, angloi
[shut your mouth, angloi][a] in the edit summary? Is your intent to insult Anglophones who may not have known that the Occitan language was one of the languages spoken in Fanny? Peaceray (talk) 18:51, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks @Peaceray. I’d like to point out that I perfectly know that Pagnol added a few sentences or words in Provençal, for local colour; I have watched the film and read the original play several times, in fact. But that does not in any way make it “an Occitan-language film”. I don’t think these amount to any more than three or four written lines all put together. (Also, I am very much French.) - @Keriluamox: Perhaps we should open a discussion at Talk:Marius (1931 film), since we have no English page yet for fr:Trilogie marseillaise. If you do not get to it, I will do so by sometime tomorrow. Peaceray (talk) 00:27, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Peaceray: sorry, I had missed your message. I think the discussion is more about general criteria for the
language
field in the infobox, or for Category:Films by language. On the former, I was relying on Template:Infobox film#Parameters (“Insert the language *primarily* used in the film. […] Only in rare cases of clearly bilingual or multilingual films, enter separate entries”). I did not find any guideline on the former. But this IP user has the same approach on other articles. - On a side note, I have started working on a draft about the Marseille trilogy, but it will not be ready for some time. [edit]Before adding a category to an article, as you did to La Fiancée des ténèbres, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. Please do not add or change content, as you did at Harvest (1937 film), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. see WP:CATVER Waxworker (talk) 14:02, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
