Categories

[edit]

Draft articles shouldn't have "real" categories. There are two common ways to handle this.

The first, which I applied to the two drafts you are working on, is to replace [[Category:...]] with [[:Category:...]].

The second, is to enclose the list of categories in the {{draft categories}} template. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 01:01, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Annie Soleil.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://trakt.tv/people/annie-soleil-proteau?sort=released,asc. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Claudia Ebacher - 1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:21, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am moving pages back into Draft:

[edit]

You have recently moved many pages from Draft: to the main encyclopedia.

They are not ready. In particular, none of them have suitable references that can demonstrate that they have received significant coverage from reliable sources that are independent of the subject being covered. Wikipedia calls this notability. Articles about non-notable topics are routinely deleted.

In the case of several pages, you or another editor previously moved the page to the main encyclopedia and I or another editor moved it back. After the second move to the main encyclopedia, I will nominate the page for deletion if I do not think it is "notable" as Wikipedia defines it.

Pages that are nominated for deletion typically are reviewed by the community for about a week. The best possible outcome is that, during that time, the page is improved to the point where everyone, including the nominator, agree that the page is in fact about a notable topic and that it should stay in the encyclopedia. It's not a "vote" though - experienced editors besides myself will weigh in and made the determination. The burden of proof is on me, not you, to show that the page fails to demonstrate that the topic is notable. However, for pages that are not referenced or only referenced with sources that are either not reliable, not independent, or which do not provide in-depth coverage of the material, my job is not hard. Your challenge is to gather enough sources over the next 7 days that at least show that the topic is probably "notable" by Wikipedia standards. I will be very happy to be proven wrong.

As for the pages that have been moved back to "draft" - there is no hurry on those. As long as you or another person makes an edit at least once every 6 months, they will not be deleted. Even if they are deleted after 6 months of inactivity as "stale drafts," ("WP:G13 deletions") you can ask for them to be restored by going to WP:Request for undeletion. More details about the various types of deletion on Wikipedia can be found at WP:Deletion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 01:56, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I found that two of these are promising enough that I did not nominate them for a deletion discussion. However, because they are WP:Biographies of living persons, they must have at least one reference. Please go beyond that - add at least 2 or 3 "solid" references that, taken together, will clearly show that each of them has received significant coverage from reliable sources that are independent of the subject being covered. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 02:38, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Alexe Gaudreault has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 02:14, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This person might actually meet Wikipedia's WP:Notability criteria. If you can, please improve the article so it is clear to readers that this person meets the criteria. If you cannot, please tag it with {{db-author}} and an administrator will delete it for you. I assume this person is also known as Alexe Gaudreault-Dallaire, a contestant on La Voix. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 02:34, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This person might actually meet Wikipedia's WP:Notability criteria, depending on how much media attention she has received outside of "publicity" appearances. If you can, please improve the article so it is clear to readers that this person meets the criteria. If you cannot, please tag it with {{db-author}} and an administrator will delete it for you. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 02:35, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Association des réalisateurs et des réalisatrices du Québec, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hello. You recently removed a Biographies of Living Persons PROD, from Annie-Soleil Proteau, without adding a reliable source. Please don't remove these Biographies of Living Persons PRODs from articles unless they contain at least one reliable source. If this was a mistake, don't worry, it has been replaced. If you oppose the deletion of an article under this process, please consider adding reliable sources to the article or commenting at the respective talk page. Thank you.
