Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Here are some links to pages you may find useful:

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a certain number of days and made a certain number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (81.108.53.238) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Happy editing! Randykitty (talk) 21:31, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Don't know what's going on I'm getting an edit denied because "Editing from 89.187.176.0/20 has been blocked (disabled) by ‪TonyBallioni‬", however my IP isn't in that block. (The block should be89.187.176.0 - 89.187.191.255)

Decline reason:

Since the IP address you are giving is different than the one this page is on, I would assume you are using a VPN or proxy; you will need to disable it if you want to edit. 331dot (talk) 20:22, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I've no idea what the previous decline is on about. It's quite clear from the edit history what my ip is and it matches this page. It matches my signature which I've put in with ~~~~ I am quite clearly no using a VPN or proxy, else wikipedia would not be expanding my signature to this IP address or putting that in the edit history. The fact that I'm getting a block on some other range indicates something is screwed up somewhere, fine if you can't help but don't deline the request without even doing the slightest bit of looking, like the edit history which shows which IP address added this comment

Decline reason:

Again, this IP address is not directly blocked. If you are receiving a block notice about 89.187.176.0/20, this means you are using a proxy or a VPN. A quick check indicates this may have something to do with DataCamp. You'll need to contact your network administrator or your ISP to get more information. "The fact that I'm getting a block on some other range indicates something is screwed up somewhere" No. What this indicates is that you are using a proxy or a VPN, or at least you have been using a proxy or a VPN in the past 24 hours. It's not necessarily clear that this is what it indicates, but let me promise you this is what it means. --Yamla (talk) 20:36, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I do not know how I can state this more clearly. I have nothing to do with Data Camp. I am NOT using a VPN, this is virgin media and large UK ISP. My IP is quite clearly listed in my signature and in the edit history of this talk page. In fact I can edit this page, which I could not do if I was using the range which is blocked. Something is fucked up somewhere. That's why I am asking for helped, not to be patronised about the fact that the message doesn't match my IP, something I stated in the first unblock request. I know this. I know I am not using a VPN. I know my IP address matches my signature, I know my IP address appears in the edit history of this page. I know if I was in that range, I could not edit this page. Something is broken.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline since we haven't heard from you.

Wikipedia cannot be "broken" in such a way. This address is not blocked, you are posting a completely different one. Would we say this if it was not true? We've pretty much given you all the help we can. 331dot (talk) 21:28, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yesterday, you were able to make this edit but you are not able to edit that article or any other now? I do not see any problem from a checkuser perspective. You've had this IP for more than a year and all looks normal. Is this a laptop or a desktop machine? If a laptop, did you carry it elsewhere and connect via a different network? Does the problem persist if you try a different browser?

    • I was just about to suggest that you clear your cookies; editing from a blocked range can result in a block that carries over via cookies to another, non-blocked IP. Berean Hunter's suggestion of editing from a different browser could work as well (assuming that you weren't also editing from that browser on the blocked range).
