Liam McCullough moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Liam McCullough, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 2nd Half Rosters

Hi. May I add the Mariners and Rangers to the list of teams that I am in charge of please? I will be prompt with the changes when they come in.

Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:10, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 Yes MainPeanut (talk) 19:56, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

If the Gallo trade happens before 10:30am pacific time, could you please help me out with the Rangers roster and navbox edits please? I’m hoping that it won’t officially happen until after that. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 06:51, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 Yes MainPeanut (talk) 11:36, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

I'm not mad or anything but I just wanted to let you know that I had the Gibson trade covered. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 21:04, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 I forgot for a second, I’m really sorry. MainPeanut (talk) 21:05, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

No problem. These things happen. I’ve probably overstepped too a few times this season. It’s all good. I look forwards to editing these rosters with you to the end of the season. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 21:33, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

NBA deals

These need to be announced by the team or league, not by anyone else. They aren't official until the team publicly acknowledges they have signed the player (this is usually after it has gone through all the parts of the process by the NBA). Deals are not official until this point and aren't updated until then per Wikipedia:SPORTSTRANS. This is true of Duane Washington Jr.. Rikster2 (talk) 20:01, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

@Rikster2 Here's a tweet from the Pacers showing their summer league roster with Washington in it. I know tweets aren't the preferred source, but would this acknowledge that he signed with the Pacers? MainPeanut (talk) 21:02, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Not really, because the Summer League rosters are players who are not yet on the team (unless under contract already) but are trying to secure a training camp spot to then try to make the team. If the Pacers acknowledged him as a 2-way player on the SL roster (doesn't look like they did) or if an announcement comes via the G League club, those are acceptable announcements. Even a tweet saying "we signed Washington to a 2-way deal" would be fine if coming from the official team Twitter. Rikster2 (talk) 21:09, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Edit Summaries and premature transactions

Hi! Thanks for keeping MLB rosters updated, but please leave edit summaries. Also, please don't post transactions until they've been made official. Example: Gil WILL be called up by the Yankees but it hasn't happened yet. Kjscotte34 (talk) 19:43, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

@Kjscotte34 Oops! I thought I saw that on the MLB.com transaction page, but that was just Severino going on a rehab assignment. MainPeanut (talk) 19:58, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
No worries! I always assume good faith. :-) Kjscotte34 (talk) 21:23, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Names of players

I have a question for you. Do you think it is important to include Jr. on the ends of players names for those who have it? Like the Mariners have a guy named Shed Long Jr. but I looked at the roster and his name is only listed as Shed Long. The MLB app has him listed as Shed Long Jr. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:43, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 A similar situation happened earlier this season with Jazz Chisholm Jr., where the page was moved from Jazz Chisholm using solely MLB.com as WP:COMMONNAME, so I think no one will have a problem with a page move. I’ll move it and change the roster per [1]. MainPeanut (talk) 19:54, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Rosters 08/28

Hey. Could you please assist me today with my teams rosters please? I can resume tomorrow with the edits. The Mariners just released a whole flurry of moves recently. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:26, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 Sorry, I was a little busy myself, but I can do it now. MainPeanut (talk) 23:50, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

That's okay. I should have asked you earlier than I did. Thanks for having my back. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 23:15, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

End of the year (MLB Rosters)

Could you please give me a brief overview of what happens normally to the rosters and the roster navboxes once the season ends please? I saw in the past that you filled in the roster on the team page rather than leaving the template. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 08:14, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 Once the regular season ends, the teams that don’t make the playoffs will have their template removed and replaced by a full roster of every player that played for that team this season under the roster section, without injured lists or anything like that (Example: Indians 2020). The template will then be used for the next season’s page and will need to be updated for free agency throughout the offseason. MainPeanut (talk) 10:20, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Okay. Sounds good. Thanks for sharing this with me. I will probably need you to look over my work when the time comes just to make sure that I covered everyone. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 02:57, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

What about the navboxes in general? And do we remove the templates for the playoff teams once their runs are over? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 17:43, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 When the Play-off teams are done, the templates can be removed. For the navboxes, they just keep getting updated through the offseason and nothing else happens to them. MainPeanut (talk) 19:53, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

Okay. Sounds good. I obviously have never gone through an offseason of MLB on Wikipedia so hopefully you will be able to double check my work and not have to fix many mistakes that I made. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 21:41, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 I haven’t either, but I’ve been looking at what has previously been done through edit revisions. Also, when the season ends (for both the roster and navbox template), all players on the 40-man roster get moved to the active roster and no one is on the inactive roster. MainPeanut (talk) 21:50, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

Interesting. You seem like such a pro at this. Anyway, thanks for all your help with this and for answering my questions on this matter. I will be prepared on Sunday to work on the Rangers and Athletics rosters (and maybe Seattle) thanks to you. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 22:24, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

If it’s okay with you….I think I am going to start my 2-3 roster transitions early (before the games end) just because I don’t know how long each will take me to complete. I figured I could start them early cause all games are in progress. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:41, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 Ok MainPeanut (talk) 23:24, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

Just finished Texas. Up next: Seattle, then Oakland. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 00:15, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

2022 MLB Rosters

Hi again,

I was just thinking forward to 2022 and I was wondering if you can take the Rangers from me for the entirety of the season. I will still work on the Giants, Athletics, Mariners, and Dodgers. And I will still work on removing the 2021 Giants (and Dodgers) roster templates from the season pages when the time is right. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:52, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 I can do that, that’s fine. MainPeanut (talk) 15:09, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

Texas Rangers navbox

Sorry. I jumped the gun on the navbox. It was a habit thing. I’ll let you take care of it next time. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:53, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 It’s ok, I had just noticed it as you sent this. MainPeanut (talk) 19:55, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Blue Jackets roster

Howdy. WP:HOCKEY came to a compromise on diacritics years ago. Part of that compromise is to not show diacritics on North American-based team articles. GoodDay (talk) 01:21, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification, I probably should’ve asked first. MainPeanut (talk) 01:53, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
No probs. GoodDay (talk) 01:58, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Seattle Mariners

Could you please help me figure out who on the Seattle roster isn’t supposed to be there please? I managed to get the number down to 38. According to the articles that have come out, it should be 37. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:32, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

@GoWarriors151718 Looks like it was Darren McCaughan who wasn’t actually on the roster according to their roster on MLB.com, but it must’ve never been reported. MainPeanut (talk) 02:49, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for the late response. Thanks for checking over the roster and helping me figure out who was not supposed to be there. I appreciate it. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 20:09, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Sorry I haven’t really helped much with roster updating this off-season. I would just like you to know that I will be able to help with roster updating (for the same group of teams that I did last season) towards the back end of spring training/beginning of the regular season (Late March/Early April). Ways to improve Ja'Tyre Carter

Hello, MainPeanut,

Thank you for creating Ja'Tyre Carter.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

What is needed are references from significant coverage about this player, and not their own words; in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. Lists, Team rosters, pages listing matches and results, databases, Instagram, Soccerway, Facebook, none of these are reliable sources. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - see WP:NSPORT ) You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally giving more information about this player, that meet these criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that this article is not suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Ways to improve Dawson Deaton

Hello, MainPeanut,

Thank you for creating Dawson Deaton.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the article may not be suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Hayden Wesneski

You have to give a better edit summary than this one to explain what you're doing. Like the one I used with Beck Way. When you paste it at its new location, you're supposed to say in the edit summary "see the former page's history for attribution" to properly demonstrate the edit history. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:41, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

Notice

The article George Springer (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This disambiguation page contains the primary topic and one other topic for the ambiguous title and no other topics can be found within a reasonable time.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:02, 24 November 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
