Spiralia

[edit]

Sorry, but I have partially reverted your edit of Spiralia again. Don't consider it as an act of hostility or a tragedy due to your wasted effort, I will try to explain you the reasons:

  1. You edited only the taxobox without changes in the text of the article and without adding any new reference. Please note that the taxobox is a brief, clear summary of information from the main text of the article, so the information contained in it needs to be supported by the main text (or at least by a supplementary reference).
  2. In this case the overview section of the taxobox is called Phyla and so it should present only the taxons of this top level and their groupings. Macrodontophion, Inquicus, Limnognathia are only genera (btw. the first considered a nomen dubium, because it is based only on fragments!), Tommotiida a probably paraphyletic group of five families, Acanthocephala part of the Rotifera/Syndermata phylum, Sipuncula an inner group of the Annelida phylum.
  3. Now to the topology of the spiralian tree of life:
    • Four recently published (progress in knowledge is rapid, and ′ten years ago′ is usually too old in phylogenetics) hypotheses are presented in the article (and supported by references!):
      1. Platytrochozoa conc. Kryptotrochozoa (the first cladogram)
      2. Platytrochozoa conc. Tetraneuralia conc. Parenchymia (with Brachiozoa sister to Annelida) (the second cladogram)
      3. Trochozoa (with Brachiozoa sister to Annelida) conc. Platyzoa (the third cladogram, referred in the taxobox to Phyla)
      4. Trochozoa (with Brachiozoa sister to Annelida and/or Nemertea) conc. Platyzoa s.l.
      • It is not clear nowadays, which hypothesis will win, but as well referenced all of them should be presented as possible.
    • Eutrochozoa, a higher group (not recently used) defined in 1998 (!) as a part of Trochozoa, containing Nemertea, Mollusca, Sipuncula, Echiura, Pogonophora and Annelida but not Phorozoa (ZrzavĂ˝ 1998), i.e. in todays meaning Nemertea, Mollusca and Annelida but not Brachiozoa, contradicts all four presented recent hypotheses (×Kryptotrochozoa; ×Tetraneuralia conc. ×Parenchymia; Brachiozoa not basal group of Trochozoa).

What I agree with:

Please, before editing the taxobox in Spiralia, think about the consistency of your changes with the whole article and its references, or try to present the proposal of changes in this user talk, i will follow it and we can find a consensus.

And first of all, try to give the reference for the changes, verifiability is one of the main policies of Wikipedia. You can put a link here, the name of the scientific article, taxtbook etc., or other identification and I will help you to create the proper reference.

The last recommendation - consider creating an account for yourself.

Please do not be discouraged by some reverts and believe that they are being done for the good of the common cause. I wish you a lot of energy for the next edits. Petr Karel (talk) 15:54, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, the last edit is O.K. There is a reference for it, I succseed inidentifying it, even if the Kryptotrochozoa clade is controversial (but it is either of the possible hypotheses, before there is a consensus among scientists for one of them). --Petr Karel (talk) 06:58, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
