Real name policy
[edit]Hello, you have made changes to the Panpsychism article and have created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Toward a Science of Consciousness. These and other factors, together with your username 2PeterElls, suggest that you are purportedly Peter Ells, author of Panpsychism and former participant of the Toward a Science of Consciousness conference.
Wikipedia has a policy, called the WP:REALNAME policy, which aims to protect notable individuals from being impersonated on Wikipedia. Current circumstances at Wikipedia point to a significant risk of such an impersonation. Please familiarize yourself with the WP:REALNAME policy and follow it as you see fit. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you. vzaak 22:59, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi @Vzaak:, Thank you for alerting me to this. I am indeed the author of Panpsychism and have given short talks at concurrent sessions of Toward a Science of Consciousness conferences. I do not consider myself to be a notable person (I hold an MA in philosophy). The conference itself is prestigious however, and the plenary speakers are top names in the field. The only change to the Panpsychism page was to correct the spelling of my name (from 'Peters' to 'Peter'), which I hope is not controversial. Regards, (Peter Ells (talk) 23:40, 6 January 2014 (UTC))
- Hello, you have self-identified as a specific individual (whether notable or not) and are therefore required to fulfill the WP:REALNAME policy. Thanks, and apologies again for the inconvenience. vzaak 00:22, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Vzaak:, Do you mean I have to email the address on WP:REALNAME to prove who I say I am? (Peter Ells (talk) 00:34, 7 January 2014 (UTC))
- You may use the email method to confirm your identity, or you may use the link-to-here method as described in WP:REALNAME. Best, vzaak 00:49, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Vzaak:, Will do (Peter Ells (talk) 00:58, 7 January 2014 (UTC))
- @Vzaak: User:2PeterElls has successfully identified to OTRS as Peter Ells. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:09, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Toward a Science of Consciousness, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Biennially, John Horgan and ASSC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Portrait of Elena Ene D-Vasilescu.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Portrait of Elena Ene D-Vasilescu.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 02:23, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

The file File:Elena Ene D-Vasilescu.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused and low quality
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ixfd64 (talk) 19:38, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
