Hi @Jlwoodwa,
Thanks for the review. I read the criteria before writing this article and I think it will be better if you could have a look at it for a second time.
Your reasons for declining:
- "... meet any of the eight academic-specific criteria": the subject has a named chair appointment ("Thomas J. Watson Sr. Professor of Physics at Brown University"), which satisfies WP:NACADEMIC point #5. A previous holder of this named chair position is Leon Cooper, Nobel Prize laureate in 1972.
- "... or cite multiple reliable, secondary sources independent of the subject, which cover the subject in some depth": please consider the following sources cited in the article.
- 1. Johnson, George (September 11, 2001). "Physicists Strive to Build A Black Hole". The New York Times.
- You can read this article on the Wayback Machine. I believe this NYT article provides good coverage of Landsberg's theory of blackholes.
- 2. Merali, Zeeya (July 20, 2010). "Large Hadron Collider gets yet more exotic 'to-do' list". Scientific American.
- This Scientific American article gives detailed coverage of Landsberg's theory of the dimensions of the universe.
Please let me know your concerns. I understand that you're a volunteer: many thanks for your effort. 2601:189:8180:7670:6000:2FE7:F0E7:EBF8 (talk) 19:29, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- The only source given for the named chair appointment is Landsberg's curriculum vitae. WP:PROF requires claims to be
substantiated through reliable sources
. I probably should have included that detail in the decline (sorry). jlwoodwa (talk) 00:32, 27 August 2024 (UTC)- @Jlwoodwa Understood, and no worries at all. I have supplied a source, which is the official website of Brown's physics department showing Landsberg's appointment as a named chair professor. I will re-submit the draft soon (rate limit issues). Thanks! 2601:189:8180:7670:6000:2FE7:F0E7:EBF8 (talk) 00:41, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

On Draft:Greg Landsberg, no. 2
[edit]Hello @Ktkvtsh,
Thank you for your review for Draft:Greg Landsberg. I am afraid I can't entirely agree with your review.
- Personal information: I did not find reliable sources that mention the subject's personal information. Besides, I don't think personal information is warranted for establishing the notability of an academic, compared to public coverage of their research output.
- GNG: I have read GNG–thanks for pointing me to the helpful guideline. However, I am also aware that A topic is presumed to merit an article if: 1. It meets either the general notability guideline (GNG) below, or the criteria outlined in a subject-specific notability guideline (SNG); and 2. It is not excluded under the What Wikipedia is not policy. The subject satisfies WP:NACADEMICS point five as a named chair professor at a major institution.
Please kindly reconsider and let me know your concerns. I hope you have a nice day. 2601:189:8180:7670:6000:2FE7:F0E7:EBF8 (talk) 02:04, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- I don't feel like Landsberg's CV should be used as a source. I also noticed that in several of the sources, he is only mentioned once. If you feel otherwise, re-submit the draft to WP:AFC. Ktkvtsh (talk) 02:19, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your attention to this! I will improve the sources for now. 2601:189:8180:7670:6000:2FE7:F0E7:EBF8 (talk) 02:42, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
