[edit]Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Bogotá, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 22:41, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help Materoalscientist. I removed the information to update it with the New World cities Index from 2020. And in the Gawc 2022 census Bogota is listed as al alpha city, this is why I updated the information. I would like to ask you if it is ok to place the new information again? Thank you for your help. 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 22:50, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Bogotá, you may be blocked from editing. —C.Fred (talk) 22:02, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - Mr. Olie with all due respect, I must admit my confusion as to why you have removed the edits I made to the Bogota page, despite the fact that I cited my sources and even explained how they prove the points which I updated in the Bogota intro section. For example the page mentions the World cities ranking from 2014, even though this is not the most recent ranking, while the information that I updated contains the World cities ranking from 2021. I would have thought that adding more updated information would not only increase the level of content in the article, but also provided a more updated insight into the city. Which is why I really must ask the point of removing my edits. Lastly I would ask you to please take a look as the source which have been cited by me, as they Cleary demonstrate my point. There is no rule that says new information (which has been cited) cannot be added to the article as long as it is not biased, untruthful, which displays personal opinions, and is false. None of which where included in the section I added to the article. Which is why I would respectfully ask you to reconsider the removal of the information I added to this article. If you would very much like, you may certainly take a look at the sources I cited to see that the information is not only truthful, but historically accurate, and give you more insights into the city. Please respond when you find the time. 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 22:31, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- I welcome you to make the edits you feel necessary in the wording of certain words in the section, but please as a matter of personal respect, recognize the worth of the information I have added and do not simply delete, as it can be proven by multiple sources such as the World Bank and Gawc 2018 cities ranking. 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 22:54, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a place for you to add your personal opinions of Bogota. We went over this on the talk page of your last IP address. If you continue edit warring as you have been, your IP range will probably be blocked and/or the article protected so you can't edit it anymore. MrOllie (talk) 23:45, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

- I am removing your edits because you are editing in a fashion that is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is neutrally written - it is not a place to give your opinions of how important Bogota is. MrOllie (talk) 23:55, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- I understand your point of view, but like I said I asked you if you could please change some of the wording not delete the information as a hole. As that is the truth that can be proven by statistics from the World Bank and the Gawc cities ranking. May I ask if you even took a look at those sources? 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 23:56, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- I just to clarify they are not personal opinions, if you even took the most minimal time to review the sources I listed, you would see that they are facts not opinions. There is a difference Mr. Olie. 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 23:55, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- They obviously are. But if you would like to argue that they aren't - the way to do that (as was explained on the talk page of your last IP, which I know you read) is to convince others of this on the article's associated talk page. Edit warring is against policy and will not keep your preferred wording in the article. MrOllie (talk) 23:56, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- Then how should I proceed? and how can I do what you suggest? 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 23:58, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

- Again, the place to discuss that is on the article's talk page. If you don't know how to use that, see Help:Talk pages. MrOllie (talk) 00:05, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- I apologize because I had not understood what the article's talk page was. I added a new topic in the article's talk page with my suggested edits. Should I also include the source? Also when can I expect for some of the edits I suggested to be approved by other people and be include in the article? 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 00:14, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- You'll have to see if anybody agrees that your edits are a good idea, first. So far several people have disagreed in the form of reverting you. MrOllie (talk) 00:18, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, Thank you for your help. Also how many people have to agree so that I can make some changes, perhaps even not all, but just some? 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 00:21, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- Mainly I am asking about the fact that Bogota is one of the most populous cities in the World, the new ranking of Bogota as an alpha city by Gawc, and about the fact that Bogota is a global center for finance, culture, politics, and entertainment,....Because these facts are actually supposed....What if I just changed these four (not all of the previous ones) which I researched online so that I could edit the article? Do you think this would be ok? As they are in fact facts? 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 00:24, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- For example I have noticed that in article for other cities they mention how they are a global center for this and that... wouldn't it be ok to put that Bogota is a global center...for what it is a global center of...I consider myself to know this subject due to my working experience. Which is why I did not understand the huge problem with the five settees that I added... 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435 (talk) 00:27, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think you have already edit warred so much that is possible an admin is going to either block you or lock the page. Continuing to attempt edits would be a terrible idea - it would change that possibility into a certainty. MrOllie (talk) 00:27, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
