Hello, I'm Mako001. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Battle of Aden (1586), but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 14:43, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi عبدالرحمن4132! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Gunpowder empires‎‎ several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Gunpowder empires, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. NebY (talk) 12:11, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Mersivan

[edit]

You should not have moved this draft article into main space; it was in no way ready as it was incomplete, violated multiple Wikipedia policies and was badly written. I've entirely replaced the text with the account of the battle from the article on the Crusade of 1101 and will be watching it carefully from now on. [edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Byzantine–Seljuk wars. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. NebY (talk) 14:22, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Having self-reverted after reverting some of the sidebars that you added some article, I noticed that you are now reverting your own additions (without leaving an edit summary). Is there a reason for that? M.Bitton (talk) 15:07, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You were right about the redundant templates; I felt they were not needed since we already have a long template. There is no need to add another one. عبدالرحمن4132 (talk) 15:13, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Best, M.Bitton (talk) 15:17, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, in this article I see you have abbreviated footnotes to at least two sources, but nowhere on the page do you give a full citation for those works. Please add a "Sources" section with a full WP:Citation for those works. Thanks! MatthewVanitas (talk) 18:15, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wa aleikim salam, I've put this page over my watchlist and I'll be checking on it for some time. I don't know if there's any volunteers for that.

Your recent editing history at Battle of Sangamner shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. SamX [talk · contribs] 07:10, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article Siege of Shivneri Fort has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Castilian War

[edit]

Hi عبدالرحمن4132 i notice your edit on the Castilian War of 1578. I would like you to revert back where i last edited it. because there are mentions of Spanish attacking Sulu Archipelago and Mindanao in the war section. Thank you. Syazwi Irfan (talk) 07:37, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.
I noticed that the article mentions action in the Sulu Archipelago and Mindanao, but I don't think it would count as the campaign was specifically launched against Borneo; they may have attacked them on their way but were not involved in war with Borneo.
I wouldn't mind if you reverted it. Regards. عبدالرحمن4132 (talk) 09:30, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Moldavia campaign articles

[edit]

Hello, I see you recently created four articles on Jan III's campaign for Moldavia in the Polish–Ottoman War (1683–1699). They all seem to be about the same thing, just different aspects of the campaign for Moldavia, so I think it would be best if those four article were either merged into the Polish-Ottoman war article, as that article is already pretty short and is well below splitting length, or merge the four articles into a new article about the campaign, maybe "Moldavian campaign (1684–1691)". I assume that, as the same sources are used throughout the four articles, that those sources generally focus on the campaign as a whole, whereas there are no sources presented that talk solely about the campaign for a specific year, for example 1684. Therefore, it would be better to present the articles how the phases of the campaign are shown in the sources. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 19:42, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!
personally, i would go with the second option. The Polish Ottoman war were not limited to Moldavian campaigns and surely there were other theaters of the war. I was planning to expand the article of 1683-1699, however, due to lack of time recently, i won't get to do it soon. عبدالرحمن4132 (talk) 02:53, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I merged the four articles into Moldavian campaign (1684–1691). Let me know if there's anything else you think should be done with the articles. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 13:33, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you also please provide page numbers for the references to the books by Marcin Markowicz and Podhorodetsky Leszek? You provided page numbers to the other two sources but not to those and as you have the sources and read them (I assume) and I do not, you likely know from which pages you got this information. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 17:09, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Battle articles

[edit]

Hi! Many thanks for creating articles on neglected battles and operations of the Ottoman-Venetian wars. However, two requests: first, please spend a little more time to provide adequate context for the reader who is not familiar with the conflicts, instead of jumping in in media res. Second, please show a little more care in sourcing and referencing, e.g. do not use sources that are entirely outdated, if not unreliable, like Rycaut in Siege of Lemnos (1657), or provide the page numbers used e.g. for Beihammer in Battle of Caesarea (1073). These are things that require little additional effort but make a difference in the long run. Cheers, Constantine 21:36, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for these notes I'll consider it. I'll try my best to provide reliable sources as possible. Regarding page numbers, I'm aware of this problem, the book in Google reads sometimes don't provide page numbers at all. I try to find another accessible edition of the book but seems impossible sometimes. عبدالرحمن4132 (talk) 21:59, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The books with no page numbers are usually e-book/epub versions, there is usually a 'regular' version to be found for the same work if you go to 'Other editions'. I also have a quite extensive library on these periods and topics, feel free to ask for any works that you need. Constantine 10:35, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:48, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
