Usersearch bugs
I examined a report at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 138#User Contribution Search. A link to phab:T104812 was later posted.
http://tools.wmflabs.org/usersearch/ returns wrong http://https urls for all searches I tried, for example http://tools.wmflabs.org/usersearch/usersearch.py?name=PrimeHunter&page=Primorial&max=100&server=enwiki
All links in the results are broken, for example http://https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Primorial&oldid=646350821 instead of https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Primorial&oldid=646350821
The page says "Bugs, suggestions, questions? Contact the author at User talk:Scottywong". His page says retired and User talk:Scottywong/Archive 23#Possible bug in usersearch says "I believe that User:Σ maintains this tool now. ‑Scottywong| chat _ 22:52, 14 September 2014 (UTC)". Can you change "Contact the author at" on the results from the tool?
Both of you are listed at https://tools.wmflabs.org/#toollist-usersearch. Maybe it should only list you.

Suggestion
It would probably be best for you to ask those questions (creating a new userright / modifying another) separately because they aren't mutually exclusive.
I also don't see that there has been any consultation with WT:BAG itself prior to putting the proposal forward (unless I missed it). I'd especially like to see if they would be implementing a four-eye principle (not having the same person who approved the bot flagging it). If so, I'd be more willing to support a new userright that can add/subtract bot flags (in addition to bureaucrats). –xenotalk 14:17, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- That's true. Despite the wording of the initial statement, the people voicing their opinions seem to know what's going on, though. I'll add a short note to clarify.
- I linked to the discussion at BON, so BAG members should be aware of its existence. However I will link to it at WT:BAG as well to optimise exposure.

RMstats tool?...
Hello again Σ! As you're probably the main one running AfDstats these days, I thought I'd ask you this as one of the people probably most likely to know the answer... but – is there an tool that analyzes Requested move discussions in a way that's equivalent to (or similar to) the way the AfD Statistics Tool analyzes AfD discussions?... Thanks in advance. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 06:31, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Labs & Tools
It appeares Cyber has now been partly able to port the German WikiHistory tool to Labs but is unable to find out how to make it work in all namespaces. I don't quite understand from the mailing list what the other members of the 'team' ae supposed to be doing, but this minor success is only about 10% of the work to be done. It is not clear whether or not those responsible for the Labs servers have met their obligations. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 18:44, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
BTW, AfD Stats is important. It's provides critical information for assessing Adminship candidates and/or the performance of othe editors and admins. It works well and fast but needs to be tewkedto report at least 200 results in its reults pane, otherwise the percentages it returns on only 50 results are not representative. I asume this is only a small fix. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 18:58, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
- True. The max for AfD Stats has always been 500, but I've adjusted the default to 200 as suggested. →Σσς. (Sigma) 22:03, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Lowercase SigmabotIII
Hi, not sure if this is the right place to put this, but on 2nd June the bot removed / archived several sections from the talk page of the article 'British Empire' This content was very recent, and is still relevant to convesations elsewhere, however older content which has been there a great deal longer remains and newer content also. This seems strange. In a conversation elsewhere i referred other editors to this content to back my point, not realising it was no longer there. I believe it was far too soon to remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Godwhale (talk • contribs) 06:51, 25 July 2015
- The most recent reply in the conversation in question was on 8 March 2015. All others had more recent replies.
- You can take it out of the archive and add a reply to it if you want. →Σσς. (Sigma) 18:30, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
Archiving too quickly
On the talk page for rattlesnake, I asked about changing 'hibernation' to 'brumation'. This bot twice archived that section. Considering the frequency of use of that talk page, I believe archiving it was seriously premature. SlowJog (talk) 10:14, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
- The bot only follows orders; if you frequent a talk page and would like less frequent archiving, just change the config. –xenotalk 12:57, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Percentages
I guess you're the one who created the latest version of "Article revision statistics". It is better than the previous one, but I'm wondering why, for the contributors table, it has the percentages for minor edits but not for total edits. --Musdan77 (talk) 01:52, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

I'm wondering why your bot hasn't done any archiving of Talk:Ebola_virus_cases_in_the_United_States. Has this new manual archive by User:Epicgenius tripped it up? Perhaps "counter = 9" is wrong now?
10 threads, all 6-9 months old. This is the current config: {{User:MiszaBot/config |algo = old(3d) |archive = Talk:Ebola virus disease in the United States/Archive %(counter)d |counter = 9 |archiveheader = {{Talk archive navigation}} |maxarchivesize = 50K |collapsed = yes |minthreadsleft = 3 |minthreadstoarchive = 1 }}
Also, your bot hasn't done anything all day today!?
--Elvey(t•c) 15:49, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- I was pinged here, so I will make this observation. The counter is set to Archive 9. Maybe it should be set to 10? Epic Genius (talk) 15:51, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- That was my wild-ass guess. But the bot's not running today, so it's harder to test. --Elvey(t•c) 16:03, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Elvey and Epicgenius: It was not working because the title of the page is "Talk:Ebola virus cases in the United States", and the bot was configured to archive to "Talk:Ebola virus disease in the United States/Archive". I fixed it [2]. It should work now. Vanjagenije (talk) 11:31, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Broadly how long after setting a new page up...
I am guessing the bot takes a while to gather the data that it has a new user talk page to archive. Broadly how long is that likely to take?
The reason I ask is because I have just set one up yesterday for an editor and would like to tell them, in broad terms, how long it is likely to be before their first archival. They have material that will be archived and I am certain I have set it up correctly(!) because it is a copy and paste with edits of my own implementation. Fiddle Faddle 08:29, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Timtrent: If you mean User talk:Olowe2011, it won't archive that page as it stands, because the
|archive=User talk:Olowe2011Archive %(counter)d
parameter is invalid. It needs to be a subpage of the page that is being archived. --Redrose64 (talk) 11:23, 6 August 2015 (UTC)- Mea culpa. and many thanks Redrose64. Fiddle Faddle 11:31, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
Archiving feature suggestion
Hi Σ. Thanks for maintaining Lowercase sigmabot III; it's a huge help around the project. I was wondering if you would consider adding a feature to the bot at some point. I somewhat expect that you've received this suggestion before, but on the off-chance you haven't: It is currently possible to include a template within a discussion to prevent/delay archiving. It would be extremely useful if it were also possible to include a template within a discussion that would cause the bot to immediately archive a thread (when it next runs). No need to respond here, but I'd greatly appreciate this feature being added if you have time and are interested in it. Thanks! ~ RobTalk 07:45, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
- I'll consider it. You're welcome. →Σσς. (Sigma) 23:07, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Afdstats signature issue?
Hey Σ, I recently ran Afdstats on myself and it looks like it isn't picking up any of my non-nomination AfD activity (even when the option is unchecked). Might it have to do with my signature formatting? Would you know of any quick fixes for this? – czar 21:49, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) At a rough guess, I'd say that it wasn't the formatting per se but the lack of a link to User:Czar. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:25, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- Oy. I originally just had that link to the user page but then my {{ping}}s wouldn't register, so I switched it to the user talk page... – czar 22:28, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hmmm. I have found that you changed your sig on 13 May 2015, in between this edit which links to user:czar and this one which links to user talk:czar. I don't see why the earlier one shouldn't trigger a notification, but I do recall that your signature has changed before: at one time there was a chess piece symbol in it, and I seem to remember a thread where you couldn't get the proper colours to show for the underline when hovering a mouse over the link. I forget where that took place. --Redrose64 (talk) 23:14, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- I can look those up if you'd like, but neither of those signatures are showing in the Afdstats tables apart from the ones I've nominated (and I've participated in a lot of AfDs). I can look up more of the signature history if you'd like, but I don't quite understand what part of my sig is causing issues with the GA bot not delivering notifs (or counting reviews) and the ping not working in the past. Do I need links to both user page and user talk, even if my user page is a redirect? Is the underlining HTML tag tripping bots that crawl my signature? Is there a standard script that crawls signatures or does every tool do it their own way (differently)? I have no idea how this works. (Paying penance for having my hyperlink underline match my text color) – czar 23:30, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Archiving {unsigned} comments
Hi Sigma, I keep forgetting to ask, but is lowercase sigmabot III's inability to archive {{unsigned}} comments a known issue? I keep finding old sections that weren't properly archived because it's got the <!--Template:unsigned-->
at the end. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 15:05, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- It can archive {{unsigned}} comments perfectly fine, as long as people don't mess up the input. Copying and pasting the timestamp from the action=history page gives an invisible character that messes up the timestamp in such a way that the bot cannot read it. →Σσς. (Sigma) 05:32, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- That would do it. I generally copy the timestamp from the history. Will make sure not to do that in the future! Primefac (talk) 07:34, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Searching for people who patrolled with Twinkle would be unneccesarily difficult. It is possible to find the people who patrolled pages without curation in general, if you would like that, but there is no trivial way to check if they did it with Twinkle. →Σσς. (Sigma) 05:30, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- This is excellent. Thank you very much. Looking at the list is very interesting and there are some surprises. It's more than enough for me to be going on with for what I have in mind. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:02, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Currently the page for your "pages created" tool (which I think is here) appears to be down. Do you know why this might be and when it will be up again? Everymorning (talk) 14:09, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Everymorning: FTR, this has happened intermittently recently (e.g. it seems to be working again right now), and I'm not sure there is anything Σ can do about it (as the impression I get is that it seems to be a "Labs" issue...). --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:52, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
