Merkle Science

Merkle Science is a blockchain analysis firm headquartered in New York City.[1] The company provides advanced risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and forensic solutions, leveraging machine learning and behavior-based transaction monitoring to detect, investigate, and prevent illegal activities involving cryptocurrencies.

Merkle Science was co-founded by Mriganka Pattnaik and Nirmal AK in 2018 at the Entrepreneur First incubator. Notable Merkle Science advisors include former IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig[2] and Debra Brookes[3], the former Deputy Virtual Currency Chief at the New York State Department of Financial Services.

The company has raised $24 million in venture capital with investors in Merkle Science including Susquehanna, Digital Currency Group, SGInnovate and Kraken Ventures.[4]

Its clients are primarily crypto businesses, global law enforcement agencies and financial institutions. Customers have included Crypto.com, Stellar[5], Hedera[6], Carahsoft[7] and the Hong Kong Police Force.
