Thanks! Thanks for the help! I always see a lot of vandalisim, but am unsure on how to revert the pages. Thanks so much! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Carlo V. Sexron (talkcontribs) 00:23, 10 December 2006 (UTC).

thanks for the heads up. Done...hopefully he or she will come back and be more productive. Kukini 16:14, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, too!

[edit]

Thanks for the welcome... actually I am an experienced Wikipedian with over 1000 edits, just showing someone how to use this( while visiting a netcafe in another country) and was too lazy to sign in with my own i.d. Hope you enjoy your experience here as much as I do. User:Bruxism 85.75.71.40 13:17, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Image:St. Anselm.JPG listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:St. Anselm.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. — Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 15:31, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

please do not remove links to cerebralhealth.com —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Psiguy (talkcontribs) 15:17, 29 December 2006 (UTC).

PSIguy...Due to the rising profile of Wikipedia and the amount of extra traffic it can bring a site, there is a great temptation to use Wikipedia to advertise or promote links. This includes both commercial and non-commercial sites. You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent, even if the guidelines otherwise imply that it should be linked. If the link is to a relevant and informative site that should otherwise be included, please consider mentioning it on the talk page and let neutral and independent Wikipedia editors decide whether to add it. This is in line with the conflict of interests guidelines. Thanks Shoessss 15:19, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Shoesses- I understand and appreciate your concern. However, the cerebral health site was already listed on the nootropic page (for example). I simply updated it with a tag description.

Thanks for your message...and I did remove it from the Nootropic site also.....Happy New Year to you and yours!!!! Shoessss 15:36, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I HAVE ADDED A MESSAGE TO THE NOOTROPIC DISCUSSION PAGE

Leo Sayer

[edit]

Please do not assume that just because you are logged in on an account that your edits somehow are more important than other people's. You reverted an edit I just made to Leo Sayer to add back in an image that is no longer held on Wikipedia, please stop this. - 86.146.241.218 21:04, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

86.146.241.218 please use the Edit Summary in the future to prevent the reverts. Thanks Shoessss 21:08, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

And Happy New Year To You...That is why there is an edit summary line...please fill in in the futureShoessss 21:06, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

The edit summary is not a requirement, it is however a requirement for you to check the content of an edit before you revert it. - Feebtlas 21:09, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes your right! But it is a courtesy is there a problem with that? Regarding checking, I’m sure you noticed I used an Autobot which showed an image was missing…Hence I reverted. Once again Happy New Year Shoessss 21:13, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

The edit summary is mostly used when the rationale for an edit may need to be explained, but I am not sure that removing redundant picture coding from an article could be something that would require an explanation. I sometimes do not bother when I think the reason for the edit is very obvious. I notice that very few of your edits actually carry any approaching sufficient explanation, so I see you are also someone who doesn't feel the need to absolutely explain everything. I think there it is too easy to just assume that anon edits must be vandalism without actually checking them, and I am not sure you would have acted to quickly to revert the edits of a logged in user, that was really my point - Feebtlas 21:25, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

My revert

[edit]

I reverted because I am and was patrolling for spam. Adding 4 links to website forums, seems to qualify to me as extra fluff that takes away from the quality of the article. I would advise that most if not all of those should be removed, per our guidelines on external links. If any of them are useful, please include them as citations, just remember to check and make sure that they are reliable sources. I am sorry that I had reverted the rest of an otherwise good edit. —— Eagle 101 (Need help?) 21:07, 4 January 2007 (UTC) Note this message is also on the talk page of Fly fishing (please reply there or on my talk page, both would be nice).

I did see your comments on Mike's page about the links....I'll go an clean them up. Just wanted to give you a heads up on what was going on. Shoessss 21:14, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Ok, no worries! and Cheers! —— Eagle 101 (Need help?) 21:17, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

National Geographic Society

[edit]

I mean organ in the sense of component. See nos. 5 and 6 under [1]

"6. a newspaper, magazine, or other means of communicating information, thoughts, or opinions, esp. in behalf of some organization, political group, or the like. 7. an instrument or means, as of action or performance: This committee will be the chief organ of administration."

Since it's not clear in at least your case, though, I think I'll change it to components. Cjs2111 16:32, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

LOL....the only thing I kept picturing was either a heart or liver beating. Thanks for the clarification Shoessss 16:35, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Oak creek high school

[edit]

What's up with the "oak creek high school" page, which appears to be an AfD notice on a page that didn't exist about a page that doesn't exist? DMacks 18:03, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

It's all in the timing....looks like the page was deleted just as I was adding the tag....Sorry for the extra work Shoessss 18:06, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Lennon

[edit]

Did I? Blow me down, I didn't want to do that. Maybe it was when I copied it and looked for a place to put it/move it. I will now say a Happy New Year to you kind editor, and thrash myself with a large stick to make sure I don't do it again! lol, :)) andreasegde 18:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't know how you tagged this one, or what you were trying to do. It looks like a copy/paste of part of an AFD notice, but there's no AFD discussion article. Since this is neither a valid AFD nomination nor a valid Speedy deletion tag, the article will not be deleted under any circumstances. Fan-1967 20:46, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I hang my head in shame...used the wrong template. Sorry about that Shoessss 20:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

the pedigree is mislabeled, even in the definition given on the page it's not a true facebuster, so it should be listed on DDT. i was nice and left it listed with a pointer on the facebuster page. dont be a dumbfuck. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.7.35.194 (talk) 20:49, 9 January 2007 (UTC).

129.7.35.194 I do not mind admitting when a mistake happens or discussing different points of views, even when they are different from my own. Question about template

[edit]

Hi Shoessss, I saw the nice yellow template you used on this user's page here. I haven't actually seen that template before, so I'm just wondering if it counts as a final warning. That user made another edit after that, which I reverted as vandalism, so I'm also wondering if I should have reported the IP to AIV. Thanks. Robotman1974 17:06, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I use it as a warning right before the Final Warning

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Hope this helps...and Happy New Year Shoessss 17:11, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Cool. Thanks for the info. Could you remove that template from my talk page? I know it's just an example, but still, it looks bad and others might get the impression I've made some nasty sorts of edits. ;) Keep fighting the good fight. Robotman1974 17:21, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Nonsense

[edit]

Poorly written biographies do not qualify as "nonsense" for speedy deletion. If you feel the subject is inappropriate for an article, please tag for Afd, thanks. KillerChihuahua?!? 15:46, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

It was not that the artical was poorly written, to me it was jibberish and or nonsense. However, I have change to Afd tag. Thanks for your help. Shoessss 15:50, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Hrm. I was speaking of Terry Erwin, I don't see that you've added an Afd, so perhaps we are speaking of different articles? If so I apologise, I should have been more clear in my first post. KillerChihuahua?!? 11:03, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

You have put this article up for speedy deletion, because you consider it spam. On the contrary, in my opinion this is a description of a historical attraction in Barbados. I've added an external link and put it in a category. If you agree, you can remove the speedy template. Otherwise, you have to move it to Afd. JoJan 16:00, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree with your assesment. Removed spam tag. Thanks for your help. Shoessss 16:03, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Criteria for companies and corporations

[edit]

A company or corporation is notable if it meets any of the following criteria:

  1. The company or corporation has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the company or corporation itself.
    • This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, television documentaries, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizations2 except for the following:
      • Media reprints of press releases, other publications where the company or corporation talks about itself, and advertising for the company.1
      • Works carrying merely trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report extended shopping hours or the publications of telephone numbers and addresses in business directories.
  2. The company or corporation is listed on ranking indices of important companies produced by well-known and independent publications.3
  3. The company's or corporation's share price is used to calculate stock market indices.4 Being used to calculate an index that simply comprises the entire market is excluded.

I do not believe the company you based your artical on falls in to the above catagory. Hence, recommended for deletion. As I am sure you are aware, you can always place a hangon on the artical rather than just to attack me....which serves no purpose other than getting a twp paragraph responce in return. Also, in the future, please sign any and all messages. That ususally shows a sign of Maturity that you are willing to defend what you write. Good luck to you. Shoessss 18:42, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Way to go!

[edit]

Were you just about remove the deletion tag from Bang Bang Machine, or was it in response to my, erm, concerns? :) Dyaimz 20:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC).

Let's say both....the article has merit, though some may not agree. The band has contributed to the music industry and were published which lends credibility and a certain amount of notoriety. In addition, you brought up a valid point. Good Luck to you. Shoessss 20:46, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

I was reading through some of your other points. Particularly the argument that as WP gets more popular, the editing needs to get tougher. Is there an on-going debate about this issue. It seems like there should be. (You prob could have left the tags about tidying up the BBM page. It's not the classiest piece!)Dyaimz 20:59, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you !!

Your very welcome....by the way...that is a very - very good artical on Thomas Yellowtail.Shoessss 21:49, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

George Gulas

[edit]

My article on George Gulas is relevent. There is no info about him anywhere and this is all I can dig up. Not giving the article a chance will deny other users the chance of adding what info they may have on this guy. Any wrestling fan would find this a noteworthy article as it is a constant conversation starter amongst us.BSEliot 18:06, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello BSEliot, as I can see by your note to me that you feel strongly about the artical. I would recommend that you place a hangon on the artical This will prevent the article from being deleted prematurely. You will be happy to know, that just one editor or administrator does not have the power to remove an article on their say so alone. But must be a consensus of at least two. Hope this helps Shoessss 19:23, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

PS: I have placed the hangon on the artical for you.

Nice edit summary on the db tag:) DMacks 18:49, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Opps, sorry Shoessss, I overwrote your db-bio by accident cause I was adding one at the same time and the edit conflict thing went... weird. My bad! SGGH 17:07, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

It's not spam, a page that exist only to promote a company, product, or service (Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion) as you suggested, although I can understand why you might think it is. There's no promotion happening. It's all information. It seems only to be a non-notable group. --Walter Görlitz 17:42, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

No, I don't mind at all. NP patrol goes so darn quickly we're all going to make mistakes. ""Oiseleur"" I placed a (hangon) on this artical for you. But you are going to have to supply additional bio information or it will be deleted. Good Luck Shoessss 17:10, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you Shoesss ! I will provide additional information about the biography and work of Marc Lacroix. I need two to three days to collect these data. Is this lapse of time acceptable? Oiseleur 17:51, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree that the Boki Bean article is probably a hoax -- I didn't find any information about anything named that on Google, or anything relevant about anyone named Gregor Handel. However, being a hoax is not one of the criteria for speedy deletion -- see WP:HOAX for more information about why. I've replaced the speedy tax with a hoax tag and a proposed deletion. Just a minor procedural thing, but I wanted to let you know why I changed it. Pinball22 19:33, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

This edit introduced some bad page code (unclosed div tag and table) which affected the text of subsequent edits. Did you include this code from a template? If so, it needs to be fixed. (By the way it's spelled vandalism). Femto 15:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

I just wrote the thing, put some effort into it. So stop drifting about with your speedy deletion messages.

Poiuytre, below is my responce to your recent Criticism: Due to the rising profile of Wikipedia and the amount of extra traffic it can bring a site, there is a great temptation to use Wikipedia to advertise or promote links. Page created at 05:08 and you marked for deletion at 05:09. Fairly quick, a little hard to expand an article within a minute. C56C 05:14, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey C56C, no one has ever accused me of sitting on my hands when work is to be done. As you probably already know the deletion, tag is already lifted. In addition, which may help to prevent quick deletions (of hard-work), a note that the article is being expanded or doing a detailed outline in the sandbox prevents these quick-handed deletions. However, most importantly welcome to Wikipedia. Shoessss 11:23, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome, but I started at wikipedia a few months before you. Last June. C56C 22:07, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
