Power of the Pen

[edit]

Thank you again for fixing up the Power of the Pen page. As I said, I came up with it mostly off the top of my head with not many citations or footnotes, and it needed some pictures, as well as gramatical editing. My gratitude! User:Ebird

Thank you

Thank you for reverting the vandalism on my user talk page! --- Skapur 00:08, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

WHY

[edit]

Why do you keep deleting my stuff? Bob Santanos

Thanks Sango!!

[edit]

Many thanks Sango for reverting my user page -- Samir धर्म 05:14, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Ditto from me for my talk page. You beat me to the block of 82.41.186.191, and the {{npov}} on the Brian Quinn page. It's a bit of a POV nightmare as written. I'll try and squeeze in some work on it in the next few days. Cheers. --Cactus.man 15:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

could you please fix my portal box?

[edit]

Hi there, I hope you don't mind this request, but I recently added a box on my userpage for my favorite Wikipedia portals. I like how the portals are centered within the box, but I don't like how they're all bunched up. I've tried to adjust the spacing between each portal, but my attempts don't seem to help. Could you please take a look at this? Thanks. --Tachikoma 18:17, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

OK, now I see how to adjust the spacing. I'll probably add more portals in the future to my box. Thanks again. --Tachikoma 22:09, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you!

[edit]

Thanks for noticing and reverting the vandalism on my user page. Have a great day! Fairsing 19:07, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Blocking

[edit]

When I try and edit and article I am informed that my IP has been blocked for vandalism (see screen shot here: [1]) however the IP given was 72.14.192.33 and my IP is 80.177.9.206 and my proxy IP is 72.14.192.48 (see screen shot: [2])

Please unblock my IP's if they are blocked. N.B. this has happened once before and I was informed it was a technical problem.

P.S. I have no idea how many people share my Proxy IP.

Thank You, Zippokovich 14:48, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Wikicoding and stuff

[edit]

Ok, so this is hardly the most pressing issue facing Wikipedia at the moment, but still. Anyway, earlier I created a template[3] as a shorthand for writing a superscript plainlink. It works with most urls (I just used it above, for example), but try and put a diff page in the template's parameter thing, and it just does this: [{{{1}}}]. I thought if anyone would know why it does this it would be you. Thanks. -- Steel 19:48, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Apparently it is the question mark that throws it off. Figured it out by using a site I made. (ex: [{{{1}}}]) (also posting this to the template's talk page) EVula 20:02, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Winhunter's RfA thanks

[edit]

Hi Sango123, thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which was closed as successful today with a finaly tally of (56/0/3). I will be very careful at first to avoid any mistakes. Please feel free to leave a message in my talk page if you have any comments/suggestions about me in the future. Once again, thank you! --WinHunter (talk) 09:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Apologies

[edit]

While reverting an edit to Communism, I accidently referred your username in the summary instead of the IP of the editor whose edit I reverted. Please accept my most sincere apologies. --Húsönd 23:15, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for teaching me how to space through images more adequately. I'll use that code in the future. :-) Regards.--Húsönd 23:57, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Moving a Page?

[edit]

What's the correct etiquette for moving a page? Can I just do it, or should I follow some series of steps? The article American International School should be moved to American International School Hong Kong. And this page should be used as for a general article about American International Schools or as a disambiguation page for American International Schools. (All American International Schools throughout the world are referred to by those who attend them and those who live in the communities in which they are located as "the American International School" or "AIS".) Polls:

[edit]

Hi. I'm just sending out a message for a new study I will be undertaking soon. It will involve surveys & polls to gather information & trends of editors on Wikipedia & other subjects. The data gathering will involve yourself recieving a questionaire on your talk page for you to fill out. I will then collect your questionaire & combine it with data from other editors. If you would like to be a part of this experiment, or know of someone who does, place a "Yes" or "No" below this message. Remember, it's only for fun & you can choose not to fill out all or parts of your questionaire once they arrive. Have a nice day... -- Spawn Man 05:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes, I'd like to participate. Sounds like fun. :) Sango123 00:47, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Great! As soon as I get enough people, I'll send out a questionaire. Thanks! Spawn Man 06:05, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]
Mmmm... apple pie!

I head from Bhadaniji that you weren't eating enough apples. It should serve as no surprise to you that the doctor would show up one of these days. An excellent way to eat apples is apple pie, which I strongly recommend, particularly with vanilla ice cream. Here's some in lieu of a RAOK barnstar, for a kind and helpful administrator. Cheers -- Samir धर्म 06:52, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I have noticed when you closed the above AfD, you did not remove the category template, "REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD". By deleting this when closing it pulls the discussion out of the category. I have deleted it from this discussion, but if you could review any other closures you have done recently and remove the tag from them it would be greatly appreicated. This is a fairly recent change. The official policy is at WP:AFDC. In regards to why it is categoried after closure, it should not be. I have been going through the listing in each of the categories CAT:AFD and removing the tag from pages that are closed and adding the approriate category code for those in the uncatagorised group. Thanks.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 18:56, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm not planning to immediately, but they are kind of boring at present, and I may want to edit them sometime in the future. Thanks much! --Jitterro 04:45, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Disclaimer

Hi everyone. If this is your first time filling out a survey, read this. To fill out a questionaire sheet, simply send me a post to my talk page, clearly stating your choice for each answer. For example: For Question 1, you might choose to place on the message, "Q1: A)" or "Question 1: Choice A." etc etc. It's up to you, as long as I get the general jist of what your choices are. You have around 1 week to return a survey sheet, but late entrie's will be accepted.

Remember however, your personal choices may be read whilst they are on my talk page. I will understand if you don't wish to answer some or all of the survey due to this. For this reason I have also placed an "Abstain" choice for each question. Try & answer truthfully, or don't answer at all if you can't.

However, your personal choices will not be expressed on the survey's outcome, instead it will be part of a larger finding, such as "60% of people eat chocolate, 25% never eat chocolate & 5% of people chose to abstain from answering..." I will never say, "90% of people eat chocolate, while only Fruityman said he didn't..." This would be an invasion of privacy. However, if a question has (Please explain) or (Please elaborate) as a choice, your specific answer may be used in the survey outcome, although your name will not be. If a question does not have (Please explain) as a question choice, but your intended choice is not represented on the choice list, then feel free to provide another choice which fits your description.

You're probably getting bored reading all of this so I'll wrap up. To see outcomes of the results, see my Polls subpage. Feel free to comment on anything! Feedback is always welcome. Most importantly, have fun. Topics will vary greatly & surveys may be resent out at later times to re-assess a consensus if survey numbers have grown significantly. If you know anyone who would be interested in these surveys, send them to my talk page or if you see this survey sheet, send your own answers in! Thanks. -- Spawn Man.

Hey, Sango

[edit]

OK, let me explain this. You know that guy named Bob Santanos? Well, yeah, that was me, I am an ex-troll on Wikipedia(hence why I used to go on your page using that name and making up things, like for instance, saying i knew you and animereadabouter, etc.). Truth is, which I'm sure you know, there was no subway incident and probably everything else i said to you was just trolling. Anyway, just clearing that up. So, yeah, there is no guy named Bob Santanos, that was a trolling alias. But i'm not trolling anymore, so, yeah. - Haven't made a real account yet, so I'll just call myself Ex-Troll until i get one

I saw this beautiful image sitting idle, and decided it should be put to better use. So I created this for me to use as an appreciation for involvement with my editor review and other purposes in the future.

The reason I'm posting this here is to make sure that you have no objection to me using this. If there is, I'll choose a different image, no hard feelings. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 06:57, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Crossing the Rubicon

[edit]

User Sango: I'm not sure what your role is: I see: "The result was delete. Sango123 20:46, 12 September 2006 (UTC)". I write to you because I notice your presence in Esperanza. I'm thinking of joining that. User Peephole lied when he said "Non notable 9/11 conspiracy theory book. Little content." The book has a ton of content. It's one of the most deeply researched books on 9/11. I didn't get to AFD page in time to vote about deletion. Please help me on this issue. Kaimiddleton 17:13, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Sango, I hope you're doing well. I've done many modifications to my userpage, and now there is an extra |} floating between some of the boxes. Hey Sango123, it's Pece, i understand that you don't want non-wiki stuff on your talk page, so as soon as i learn how to send you an email without screwing up my brothers emails, i send you an email or 2.

Anyway, somethning wikipedian: you know how your talk page has an archive right, and it has a "show or hide" function, how do you do it, because i'm thinking of having one om my userpage, but i have no clue how its done, could you help?

Quick question

[edit]

I hate to be bothering you again, but may I ask something? I'm still confused as to how to move userboxen to my Userbox page. The ones I made (again, on my talk page) have no template pages (for example, the Lemon Demon userbox is a bunch of code, not a simple "Template:Lemon Demon userbox" or something similar), so I can't figure out how to redirect them. Is there a way for me to make a template specifically for the userboxen so that I can post them on User:Jitterro/Userboxes? Thank you so much for your help! --Jitterro 08:01, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey Sango! First before I forget, Happy Birthday as it looks like you have one coming up quick! Do you think you have time to help me out. If you fix the page I can look at your edits and that will benefit me in learning more about using footnotes! Have a day, and thanks so much! Question

[edit]

Hi Sango. I had a question. When a user removes certain things, comments if you will (normal comments from different users that raise legitimate points and are in no way breaking WP rules), from his/her OWN talk page either because they don't like the comments, or to serve some other purpose (to make the page look like something it is not for example). Like thisI guess. Is that considered vandalism? I hope to hear from you soon! Superdude99 15:21, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
