From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Layer 7 Technologies is an international technology company focused on API security and governance solutions for service-oriented architecture (SOA), web applications and cloud computing. Layer 7 produces XML appliances, SOA gateways and API management products that facilitate control of data security and access.

In addition its SecureSpan range of XML gateways for SOA, Layer 7 also offers the CloudSpan range of gateways for cloud security and governance.[1]

While the SOA gateway market is led by products from large corporations (such as IBM's Datapower), Layer 7 has been called an "aggressive (player) in the XML security gateway area".[2]
