[edit]Salem Turki al-Antri (Arabic: سالم تركي العنتري) is a Syrian militant and leader of the US-backed Revolutionary Commando Army also known as the Free Syrian army (FSA).[1] Appointed by the United states on february 29 2024 Salem replaced Muhammad Farid al-Qasim who was dismissed after multiple concerns about his conduct by fellow FSA members.[2] Before joining the US backed rebel group Salem was a member the Islamic state (ISIS) a US-designated terrorist organization.[3] He has remained in FSA controlled territory since appointed leader and helped coordinate and execute the Palmyra offensive (2024) & the Battle of Damascus (2024) significantly increasing area of its control.
