About me
[edit]Hello! I am a brand new editor and I joined because I saw a stub page about a species of fish I keep (and love) that needed corrections. While I will contribute easy edits as well, my background sets me up to contribute to pages about biology, tropical aquarium fish, and horses. I live in the United States.
Key background
[edit]I have a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and worked in science communication professionally for 5 years. I keep planted aquariums and tropical fish. I had my first betta fish as a small child and got more deeply interested in fish since 2020. Although I have been out of the game for awhile, I am also experienced with horse care, equine muscle disease (science), and the sports of eventing and dressage.
Disclosure: I own a small retail store that sells tropical fish and produce social media content related to that. I will do my best to avoid even potentially questionable edits related to fishkeeping. I will not cite myself, ever.
Fun stuff
[edit]I just started studying Japanese and I am absolutely no good (yet). I am excited to someday read about Japanese rice fish (medaka, メダカ) and the famous aquascaper Takashi Amano in Japanese. However, I have a long way to go before I can do that.
