Wikipedia has strict rules on what articles can exist. General rules are listed below. You should read and understand the principles of these.

Special rules also apply if your article is about:

  • A living person
  • Anything that you have a connection with - yourself, your company, your products, your organization, your band, a book or website promoting something connected with you, or similar.

If these apply then you should read the relevant subsection as well

Common warnings:
  1. If an editor thinks your new article does not meet our rules, they may ask others to discuss the matter, or summarily decide to remove it if it is visibly problematic.
  2. if you write an article about yourself or anything connected to you, then be aware that once created, you will not have control over that article, and it may be edited to include things you would prefer not to be mentioned. For this reason we strongly advise people to think twice about creating articles on subjects they are connected to.
