Mir Shams-ud-Din Muhammad Araqi (Persian: میر شمس الدین محمد اراقی; c. 1440–1515 CE), also known as Mir Syed Muhammad Musavi Isfahani, was an Iranian Muslim sufi saint.[1] Araqi was part of the order of Twelver Shiasufis in Jammu and Kashmir who greatly influenced the social fabric of the Kashmir Valley and its surrounding regions through his peaceful teachings. There has been a concerted effort by anti Shia groups and Islamophobes to present him, a sufi saint, as a violent saint who enforced Islam on Hindus of medieval Kashmir, even to the extent that a propaganda movie of Bollywood, The Kashmir Files, attempts to discredit him while referring to history recorded by some unknown authors.A smear campaign to further the communal(pro Hindutva)/fascist political agenda of the ruling Party in India.
