Robert Reneau (born April 06, 1971) is an American forensic scientist and politician serving as county boardsman of Peoria, Illinois since 2018. He was elected on November 6, 2018, winning by over 55% over his opponent. He has since won reelection twice, once in 2022 beating Luker Hoerr by 55% and once in 2024 in which Reneau ran uncontested.[1] .[2]
Formative years
[edit]Reneau is the son of Harry and Linda Reneau. He has a sister named Jennifer. He grew up in Bryant, Illinois, and moved to Peoria to attend Illinois Central College[1] Rob Reneau Peoria County.[3]
Reneau was a 1989 graduate of Lewistown Highschool.He began his college education at Illinois Central College and attended classes there for two years until he transferred to Illinois State University.
Reneau has two sons.[4]
Professional life
[edit]Reneau secured his first job at the age of sixteen. He worked for the local McDonalds. After college, Reneau was employed by the Illinois State Police and began training as a Forensic Scientist in Carbondale, Illinois. Reneau moved back to Peoria to work for the forensic lab in Morton, Illinois where he is still employed today. Cite error: The <ref>

[edit]Reneau announced his campaign for County Board in 2017 and campaigned for several months in 2018.
