AWB Bot

[edit]

I saw your message on Jj's talk page. This is what I do:

  1. Open up AWB
  2. Log in with your bot account
  3. Go the the "Bots" tab.
  4. Check "Auto Save"
  5. Check "Quick Save" as well.
  6. Delay 12 seconds between edits, so 5 edits per minute.
  7. Check (if you want): Suppress "Using AWB" summary
  8. Check: Resave ("nudge") if stuck
  9. Now go to the "Make List" box.
  10. Go to "Make From"
  11. Select "Links on Page"
  12. On Links on _______ add the page of the members of the wikiproject, etc.
  13. Click "Make List"
  14. Go to "List" tab on the top.
  15. Click on: "convert to talk pages"
  16. Now go to your list, and click "Remove Duplicates"
  17. Next: remove everything in the list that isn't a user talk (articles, other userspace pages, etc.)
  18. Go to the "More" tab.
  19. In the "Append/Prepend Box" check "enabled"
  20. Check "Append" (Although it should already be)
  21. In the box put {{SUBST:<PAGENAMEHERE>}} - replacing <PAGENAMEHERE> with the page the newsletter, etc. is located in.
  22. Under that you may want to put <small>The newsletter was delivered by [[user:Stormbot|Stormbot]]
  23. Go to the "Start" tab.
  24. In the "Summary" bok put your edit summary: (i.e. Newsletter delivery of Wikiproject Boston Red Sox)
  25. Click "Start"
  26. Sit back and enjoy :)
Hope this helps. I think I got everything. - Milk's Favorite Cookie 15:03, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Re:Bot question

[edit]

Go the "More..." tab, and make sure "Enabled" is checked, and the dot is filled in next to "Append" (as well as using two newline characters). Then just type the message you want the bot to give (don't forget the section header and ~~~~). Go to the "Bots" tab, and if it is unassisted, you can click the "Auto save" tab and adjust the number of seconds to delay based on how many edits per minute you want.   jj137 (talk) 15:10, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]

Hello there! If you're receiving this message, it means that you are currently in the Participants category of The Office WikiProject. A message involving reconfirmation was included in the current newsletter, but it was a bit buried, and I wanted to make sure that everyone received notice of this so we can get as accurate of a count as we can. The WikiProject is currently trying to find how many users listed in the Participants section are active members, and if you have a spare moment later, it would be a big help if you noted your reconfirmation by simply signing your signature here. And if you're a non-member reading this, feel free to drop by and add your name to the reconfirmation category; you'll be added into the list once it's finished. Thanks, and have a great day! Bruins Task Force userbox template

[edit]

Hi Stormtracker -- wanted your input on something. I was going to change {{User WPBoston Bruins}} a little bit -- mostly just capitalize "Task Force" and change WP:HOCKEY to WikiProject Ice Hockey. As such:

This user is a member of the Boston Bruins Task Force of WikiProject Ice Hockey.

I just think it looks a little better -- but I wanted to ask you if it was OK to change it, since you created it. I already edited it once to remove an extra period but I didn't think that was a big deal. Let me know. Thanks! Camanda (talk) 21:07, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Just wondering

[edit]

Is it possible on Wikipedia to have a picture with the links "Previous" and "Next" underneath where the links re-fresh just the picture to another one when you click and back to the previous when you click previous. If it is could you please tell me the code. It would be good for my userpage! Thanks, wwesockssign 06:17, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

I need the buttons for my guestbook as it is several images of a book. The images sre different "pages", so I need the buttons to "turn a page" and "turn back a page". But would a refresh button do the trick? It would refesh the picture to another but can't go backwards or fowards through the images. Do you have any ideas on what I can do with my buttons for my "book"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wwesocks (talkcontribs) 01:53, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Ok. I wont confuse you any more. Could you please go to User:Wwesocks/guestbook and see if you can create back and foward buttons to go from one picture to another(maybe just a refresh one if you can't do them) for my guestbook. BCAD redux

[edit]

Sorry to nag but I could I ask you to complete the range please (only 40 or so to go!) as I'm looking to close the drive. If you can't manage it just now, please let me know :) --ROGER DAVIES talk 08:57, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, looks great already, there are only a few things that I'd recommend. First, the image needs a source in its fair use rationale. That's one quick and easy thing that's definitely needed. As for the article itself

  • The DVD has released in Region 2, so it can be noted here.
  • There are some key places in which references are needed. These include DVD release date, and the change in time.
  • Information is needed in the production section about specific directors. Not a lot, but the line that states about the team and the freelance directors needs to be concreted by information about the "team", and the freelancers.
  • Production section also needs some info on filming location.
  • More information on reception is needed aside from just statistics. A small section on positive critic reviews, followed by another small section, on negative critical reviews, is needed to complete the section as well as maintain a NPOV.
  • When you speak of Nielsen ratings, you need to give a link, as well as a short explanation of what they are.
  • For the episode list, give a short explanation of what the table means, in reference to episode number and production number particularly.
  • A key is needed to show what the small figures beside a few of the episode titles mean.
  • References should be re-dated to the appropriate date when you entered them in the page.

Looks great other than that, and I'll can assist you later today with a few of the changes. Then we'll send it to FLC!

Happy Editing, Mastrchf91 (t/c) 15:26, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: DYK

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sportscenter logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sportscenter logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 14:56, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Looks good. I would recommend {{citeweb}} on the references. Someone might ask you to do that over at FLC. If you add importScript('User:Mr.Z-man/refbuttons.js'); to your monobook; that may make it easier. Just a suggestion. Milk’s Favorite Cookie (Talk) 23:15, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
