A word of thanks to our volunteer supporters working on IRC live chat

[edit]

In the last year or so I have been much more active on Wikipedia and Wikimedia than before.
During this time I relied a lot on the advice and support of the volunteers on the #wikipedia-en-help IRC channel.
I must have asked them hundreds of questions (as user "Anon7413", hi guys), and with a few exceptions they always answered me patiently and competently.

As I could personally observe, a lot of their work seems to consist of explaining Wikipedia's rules to people who come there to try and protest for their article subject's 'intrinsic' notability. They usually do so with a near-saintly patience and politeness, as far as I could see.

Thank you for offering this real-time service and bearing with me all this time.
Keep up the good work.

Here is a "True Lover's knot" for you, for showing me the ropes.
