Majuscules
[edit]For the moment, the template uses a majuscule, which is an unintended effect. I don't have the proficiency to fix it, please contribute if you can. I am by no way a template expert.

Confusing in Small Amounts
[edit]"Transuranic elements (those beyond uranium) are, except for microscopic quantities, always artificially produced..." I think this sentence isn't worded well. I'd like to change it to be, "Transuranic elements (those beyond uranium) are found in microscopic quantities in nature, and therefore are artificially produced..." Any feedback on if I should go ahead with this or not? --Mechcozmo 06:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Oklo
[edit]The Oklo natural fission reactor produced significant (i.e., non-microscopic) quantities of plutonium. This stands as an exception to the wording of this template. It should be re-worded so that the distinction need not be made. For example, whether a particular batch of plutonium was or was not artificially produced, was or was not produced in microscopic quantities, is completely irrelevant to whether plutonium has stable isotopes or not. It doesn't. It has some very long-lived radioactive isotopes which can be produced in large quantities by non-artificial means in very particular circumstances, but it is not stable. Nor should the template say "transuranic elements are never stable" because that is potentially untrue. No transuranic element is currently known to be stable, but there are several future candidates that could be.
Short of changes of the above nature, I am for the deletion or de-implementation of this template in the transuranic element article pages. If an article really needs this template in it, what it really needs is to be deleted entirely, because it has no significant information in it. --76.224.78.226 14:08, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
