Header cell vs. normal cell

[edit]

@Redrose64: I've usually seen this used like a header (saying something like "Future extension"), sometimes above another {{S-rail}} header row. What's the semantic reason for making this look like a header but not actually a header? Jc86035 (talk) Use {{re|Jc86035}}

The appearance is perhaps historical, but header cells should only be used for actual headers - these may be column headers, or row headers. It's called {{s-note}} because it's for notes. Notes do not necessarily precede something - more often, they follow it. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 13:59, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Wouldn't a note following a header or another group of cells use {{S-text}}? (I still think this is usually used as a header, like at Liverpool Street station. If there isn't anything wrong with using {{S-rail}} in the middle of a table…) Jc86035 (talk) Use {{re|Jc86035}}

Please sync with sandbox. This uses TemplateStyles and Codex tokens to add dark mode support, and takes the opportunity to move the remaining inline styles to TemplateStyles at the same time. Taavi (talk!) 09:16, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
