Regional grouping suggestion
[edit]It's quite a long list now- I suggest this template could be made more readable if it were arranged into groups of UK regions/nations. I find a single huge list quite hard to take in at the moment. Perhaps:
- North East (inc.Yorkshire)
- North West England
- Midlands/Central England
- East of England
- Greater London
- South East England
- South West England
- Wales
- Scotland
- Northern Ireland
...or any other subdivision that is more appropriate to the content? Cnbrb (talk) 11:30, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
- If we do break down by regions, we should use an existing scheme and not invent our own. The station subcategories of Category:England rail transport stubs are based on the nine Regions of England, each of which is based on a grouping of geographic counties or London boroughs. So we have e.g. Category:East Midlands railway station stubs and the corresponding
{{EastMidlands-railstation-stub}}
. These nine regions are comprehensively described at Subdivisions of England#Hierarchical list of regions, counties and districts. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:18, 26 November 2017 (UTC)- Yup that makes sense if it's consistent with other related articles.Cnbrb (talk) 23:25, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
When does something stop being in this list?
[edit]I note that UK Ultraspeed is here, despite the proposed scheme having been rejected by DfT and no longer being pursued by its promoters. There's no reason to think that even if there was new interest in a large UK maglev, that this name would be used. I suggest that it should be removed from the template.--FDent (talk) 18:46, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
