Request two extra parameters
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
When Template:Infobox German railway vehicle was consolidated into this infobox, there were a few errors made. I have fixed the mapping for most of them, but I need one extra parameter – over buffers – in order to correct the last outstading mapping error. I have also added over headstocks as an alternative/replacement for over bufferbeams in order to prevent future confusion.
I have made the changes in the sandbox; it just needs to be reviewed and merged.
Thanks in advance. – Iain Bell (talk) 14:55, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Done I'm assuming that there is consensus for this edit. Thank you for the clear request and good sandbox edit. Please adjust the documentation as needed – it is not protected. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:30, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
Update boiler heating area and other bug fixes
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
I have made a suggested refactoring of the boiler heating section to put totalsurface at the bottom where it belongs (and once was, once upon time...). I have also moved some of the parameters around within their sections – historically related values were in ascending order and I have attempted to revive this. I have also found and fixed a couple of errors.
I have made the changes in the sandbox; and added testcases for the heating area changes. They just needs to be reviewed and merged.
Thanks in advance. – Iain Bell (talk) 15:02, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Request for an extra parameter
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
At present, there are several end-of-service options available in this template:
- retiredate - the date the locomotive was retired from regular service
- withdrawndate - Commonwealth English equivalent of retiredate above
- restoredate - the date the locomotive was restored to operating condition
- scrapdate - the date the locomotive(s) was scrapped.
I would like to see provision for a further factor: condemneddate – the date the locomotive was officially condemned. It was common practice in Australia to record this accounting action (taking the loco "off the books" in effect) and not the dates on which they were withdrawn or scrapped. Without a condemned date in the template there is no means of giving end-of-service information. Cheers, Simon – SCHolar44 🇦🇺 💬 at 12:15, 17 September 2024 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 22 September 2024

Broken template fix: Should data24 be called data23 to correlate with label23? The "disposition" text is currently displayed as a hatnote in the infobox transcluded into more than 500 pages. EditorGirlAL07 (talk) 02:32, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
- Completed; good catch, thank you! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 05:41, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
Add new parameter: traction ('Traction system')
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
My request: Please add a new parameter called 'traction'
(in Wikicode), displayed as 'Traction system' in the infoboxes.
Explanation/motivation: This parameter displays what power electronics are used to control the traction motors: for example, using resistors, a DC chopper or an inverter (such as IGBT-VVVF or GTO-VVVF). The traction system is the heart of any (diesel)electric locomotive and should therefore be added to the template.
Examples can be found on the following pages, where the same parameter is already being used in Template:train:
ICE 1, ICE 3, NS VIRM, BLS RABe 525, NS ICMm, HKL Class M100.
Examples in code are listed below:
traction = Siemens IGBT-VVVF
returns:
Traction system: Siemens IGBT-VVVF.traction = Jeumont-Schneider Thyristor chopper
returns:
Traction system: Jeumont-Schneider thyristor chopper.
