This is a route-map template for the East Bayfront LRT, a light rail transit line in Canada.

Note: Per consensus and convention, most route-map templates are used in a single article in order to separate their complex and fragile syntax from normal article wikitext. See these discussions [1],[2] for more information.

Changes

[edit]

I have updated the template based on a 2017 Waterfront Toronto document (page 62) and a 2021 City Of Toronto document (slides 8 & 28). The major changes are: TheTrolleyPole (talk) 21:48, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  1. The branch to Distillery Loop is now shown; the City is actively planning Distillery Loop to be the eastern terminal. Going beyond Cherry street into the Port Lands is not yet actively being planned. (Slide 8 of 2021 document)
  2. Both documuments show Polson Loop, so the Polson branch along Cherry Street is included in the schema. The 2021 document (slide 28) names the loop. The 2017 document (page 62) shows proposed streetcar stops within the Port Lands.
  3. The schema reflects that the stop on Cherry Street on Villiers Island is at Centre Street rather than Commissioners Street as per page 62 of the 2017 document.
  4. Both documents show tracks on an extended Broadview Avenue between Commissioners Street and Queen Street. Both show East Harbour as a stop. Thus, the schema now shows this branch. Neither map indicate tracks would continue south of Commissioners Street, so the indication of such a branch was removed.
  5. The 2021 document only hints that the streetcar tracks along Commissioners Street would reach Leslie Street. Thus, the revised schema only hints at such an extension.

If the revised schema seems too complex, an alternate solution is to split the schema into two parts so that Template: East Bayfront LRT contains only the Union to Distillery portion while a new Template:Port Lands streetcar network would contain the rest. If the streetcar network is fully built out in the Port Lands, then as a guess, there may be two streetcar routes there given the multiple streetcar branch lines. Page 13 of a 2021 TTC document has a map indicating a Commissioners Street line from Cherry Street to a future Broadview Avenue extension that turns north to East Harbour and Queen Street; this map does not show the Commissioners Street line extending east to Leslie Street.
