include all stations for light rail and streetcar
[edit]Charlotte Transportation Center and Gateway Station (Charlotte) are both Gold Line stops and the CTC is additionally a Blue Line stop. Why are they not included on the respective lists here? simply listing them as "Transit Centers" is pretty confusing and inconsistent. -MJ (talk) 21:43, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Because it would be redundant and not necessary, especially since they are just listings in alphabetical order and not a route map. Both facilities are intermodal, thus operate more than just the rail stops including bus, intercity rail and possible commuter rail. So they are identified differently and on purpose. --WashuOtaku (talk) 00:49, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any other transit system template that purposefully omits stations on their lines' station lists, even when redundant, see:
- etc. as presented, it seems like the CTC and Gateway aren't served by rail lines at all. -MJ (talk) 03:11, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- Those examples are also rail only, this template is the entire transit system (bus, rail, etc.); you are comparing apples to oranges. --WashuOtaku (talk) 05:00, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- more like oranges to orange-colored and -flavored apples. and Capital Metro is not a rail only system - the transit centers (North Lamar Transit Center and South Congress Transit Center) are listed as transit centers, just not in those templates.

- alternatively, maybe it would benefit this template to split out the station lists to their own templates? like how Template:Dallas Area Rapid Transit does not list stations for lines but relies on two additional templates for such (Template:Dallas Area Rapid Transit stations navbox and Template:Cotton Belt) — the same with Capital Metro as seen above. that would pretty much solve the issue of clarity, because it still appears as though CTC and Gateway aren't served by rail (maintaining the status quo doesn't change that). -MJ (talk) 05:49, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not totally against a second template, but having only two lines, it would be a small one. I'm fine with the status quo or simply removing the stations entirely, being that the lines are already represented. I simply do not see the need to duplicate locations when one is sufficient. --WashuOtaku (talk) 12:37, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- Whipped up this little ditty based on Sounder's station template. The lines can be individually switched on. -MJ (talk) 00:01, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

- <sigh> I guess we doing this. Probably do not need the color box on left of line since the color column line is there. I believe in the other examples, they are organized by order of stop and not alpha-numeric format (west --> east/south --> north). --WashuOtaku (talk) 00:35, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
