Susana Giménez (TV show)

[edit]

Created/expanded by Bleff (talk). Self nom at 04:01, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

  • New enough and adequately inline citations in article, but as of now just 1488 readable prose characters per DYK Check. I am not a stickler but others may be, especially since the 1500 character bar does not seem to be a very high one for a TV show. Found no copyvios. It is not clear to me what the hook statement means - that is ok for the hook, but the article itself does not clarify it, and I could not make out from the source what was meant; either from my weak Spanish or from the rather garbled Google translation. No QPQ is noted, but not sure if the nominator has enough DYK credits for this to be required. Rlendog (talk) 01:52, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Spanish is my mother language. The source says: "In Argentine newspapers a request was read explaining that 'a show is causing serious inconveniences in the [telephone] lines. There is no system designed to support a load like this." I believe the hook is maybe too ambiguous. Other information may be used from the article, like the Guiness World Record the show broke in 1998.
ALT2 ... that when Argentine presenter Susana Giménez's talk show Hola Susana (pictured) debuted, telephone lines collapsed because of the many calls it received?
ALT3 ... that Argentine talk show Hola Susana, te estamos llamando (pictured) entered Guinness World Records in 1998 because of all the letters Susana Giménez, its host and namesake, received in the show? --Bleff (talk) 04:48, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I think the Guiness hook works. If you want to use the telephone hook, ALT 2 could also work, although "collapsed" may not be the best word to use. Maybe "disrupted" or "overloaded," although those are not as "hooky." That would still leave the article length. It only needs an additional sentence or two to meet the requirements. Can you find a little more information to add? Rlendog (talk) 15:25, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
  • An "under construction" template has been added, and article is now 1302 prose characters, well under the minimum (and yes, 1500 is the absolute minimum in this case; for a television show that has been running for 24 seasons—shouldn't it be 25 by now?—1500 should be easily attainable). • Reviewer needed to check the new material; DYKcheck is giving 1774 characters, so it appears to meet the minimum size requirement. The article was apparently updated several days ago, but no notice was posted here. If you fix a nominated article, it's important to let us know here. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:06, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
Actually, the new final paragraph of History is not cited, which is required for DYK, and the information that she took three years off when the program was not broadcast made the "24 seasons" claim problematic, so I removed it while I was doing some minor copyediting. Also, the "collapsed" issue is still unaddressed; the article continues to use that wording. These issues should be addressed before a reviewer is called in. I think the picture is great, and would love to have it as a lead hook, but the article needs to be improved before that is possible. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:20, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
I have just pinged the nominator again, since there has been no response and issues have not been addressed in close to two weeks. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:01, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
  • User has been quite active on Wikipedia the past couple of days yet has not responded here nor edited the article. Regretfully closing the nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:10, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
