Revenue stamps of the United States
[edit]- ... that the first U.S. Revenue stamps (one pictured) were issued during the American Civil War in 1862 by the (Union) government to help raise money for the enormous cost of the war?
5x expanded by Gwillhickers (talk). Self nominated at 06:10, 7 October 2014 (UTC).
- Recently expanded (from 489 characters of prose to 6576 characters of prose), hook is properly cited and checked, sources reliable and verifiable, unable to use duplication detector (but visual scanning does not suggest copyvios), all stamps images are PD. QPQ – cited review is almost one-year old (?) --Godot13 (talk) 03:08, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Godot13: -- Thanks for the review. Yes, the first five DYK nom's submitted require no reviews, and overall I tend to review more nominations than I submit. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 09:32, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
