NeocoreGames

[edit]
  • ... that in NeocoreGames' upcoming video game title Broken Sea, players will start in a monastery, locate an enormous Dominion Ship (pictured), and journey to a once-majestic archipelago?

Created/expanded by Morticiaidol (talk), Odie5533 (talk). Nominated by Odie5533 (talk) at 23:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Suitable length, however the fact is sourced by a blog entry (as with most of the other refs in the article) which is not a reliable source. More third party sources should be added. Bonkers The Clown (Nonsensical Babble) 04:34, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
I found a secondary reliable source from Rock, Paper, Shotgun and added it to the article. Regarding the previous source, I'd consider a blog written by the developer's of the game to be reliable for content contained in the game. For example, citation #73 on the featured article Final Fantasy XIII uses a blog as a reference for information about the game. I don't think the blog is reliable for information about George Washington, but I think it is reliable for information about themselves. --Odie5533 (talk) 04:51, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
A blog from the developers would fall under WP:SPS and would thus still be acceptable. Full review needed. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:03, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Seems to me that the hook is more about a product of the company than about the company itself. It also sounds a bit WP:PROMO for my tastes. Can I suggest a rethink? ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 15:43, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
  • No response in over two weeks, despite talk page notification. Giving a final ping on talk page, and 48 hours (or until next Wikipedia edit, whichever is longer) for a response here. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:38, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
    • Sorry for taking a long time on this. I had forgot about this DYK, and I have been ill these past few weeks. Here is a possible ALT. I also changed the picture.
    • ALT1: ... that NeocoreGames uses their own game engine called Coretech (screenshot pictured) to develop video games?
It can be verified at http://www.neocoregames.com/ under Company > About Us. --Odie5533 (talk) 07:46, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
    • I'd also mention the screenshot copyright is clean, the deletion nomination is for an old revision of the uploaded image. You can read the nomination entry for more details. --Odie5533 (talk) 07:51, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
I'd prefer a third party source to attribute the creation of Coretech to Neocore (I'd add it myself, but if I do I'd have to recuse myself from giving the DYKtick). In other news, I can't stand websites that insist on playing music without my say-so. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 08:45, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Done --Odie5533 (talk) 08:54, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
hook is sourced, article is (was) appropriate length, good to go on the ALT above. The picture seems to meet all requirements. ˜danjel [ talk | contribs ] 09:09, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
