London Buses route K5

[edit]

  • QPQ has been  done, as I was transcluding this page I noticed a nomination in need and assisted.--Launchballer 15:26, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
  • This is a redirect. What? — Crisco 1492 (talk) 08:25, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
I could have sworn blind I put a {{db-g6}} template on it? User:Launchballer/London Buses route K5 should be there now. If you could perform the histmerge yourself, that'd be great.--Launchballer 12:04, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
  • I'm still getting a redirect. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 19:21, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, that wasn't clear. I put one up earlier on, and found that it wasn't there now. It looks to me like a histmerge has been done, but from London buses route K5 and London Buses route K5. I haven't put a new tag up since. Could you perform the histmerge please?--Launchballer 19:43, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
Striking through above comment, as histmerge has been performed by Anthony Bradbury.--Launchballer 23:09, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
  • What exactly makes this route notable? I mean, londonbusroutes.net does not seem to be a reliable source, and Epsom buses is not an independent source... that leaves two news articles about a single event which is, essentially, nothing special. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:14, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
There are plenty of times this route has been in the papers - have another look, four entries regarding three/four events (depending on whether you consider its near-axing in 2006 and its consequent omission from map as two different events).--Launchballer 01:17, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Do you mean you've added more sources? There weren't four independent ones earlier. Also, what makes londonbusroutes.net reliable? It forms the basis of your article. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:38, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
I sort of assumed there were already enough - I had another look. To be honest, I've always assumed Londonbusroutes.net reliable because of the sheer number of articles that use it. Let me ask someone more closely affiliated with the WikiProject.--Launchballer 02:11, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Please do. The website appears to be self-published, likely by a group of citizens, but I have been unable to confirm anything because there is no "about" page. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:25, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
From londonbusroutes.net, Disclaimer: Although every effort will be made to keep the information contained in this site correct and up-to-date, no liability will be accepted for any consequences of any errors contained herein. Also, this is not an official site either of "London Transport" (Transport for London) or any of the operators! Most of the information contained herein is available to the general public elsewhere, but has come from a wide variety of sources, and the reason for this site is to get it all into one convenient place. CourtneyBonnick (talk) 02:29, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
  • That doesn't sound like a very reliable source... — Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:07, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Londonbuses.co.uk, does that have the same problem?--Launchballer 11:23, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
  • I should think so. That looks to be the work of one person, Ian Armstrong, and it's quite likely self-published. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:38, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Yuck. I've asked the bloke where he got the information from, but at some point I should probably have a look round my local library. Or, CourtneyBonnick, if anyone else in the Transport WikiProject has some books, perhaps they could weigh in.--Launchballer 11:42, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Source reliability concerns unaddressed. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:45, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Interestingly, a check in my local library shows that no library in my borough has anything which would be useful. At some point I'm going to need to go to a library in Kingston and look.--Launchballer 10:42, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Bingo! I've managed to change the reference.--Launchballer 00:59, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Alright, the sourcing looks acceptable now. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:36, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
