  • In the process of reviewing this article... Cowlibob (talk) 19:07, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
  • I would be concerned about the close paraphrasing from the source. " helped found the Minneapolis branch of the Urban League" (source) and "helped found a Minneapolis chapter of the National Urban League" (article). "When her father died of heart failure in Buxton in 1906, Smith moved to Minneapolis with her mother, three younger brothers, and young sister" (source) "When her father died of heart failure in 1906 she moved with her mother and four younger siblings to Minneapolis" (article)
  • Are you sure she worked as a dermatologist? It's a job which requires a medical degree which there's no evidence of.
  • You could add that she was the first female President of the chapter.
  • I'm not seeing the source for her advising the Lees to stay strong just that she accused the police of being negligent.
  • The source for her house being historic describes the Lees house not Lena's house. Maybe this ref will help. [[1]]. Cowlibob (talk) 19:43, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the review! I've made several updates and revisions as per your suggestions. The source regarding her work as a dermatologist puts it in quotes — not sure how best to express that in encyclopedia form ("amateur dermatologist?" "unlicensed dermatologist?"). Looks much better. Maybe unqualified dermatologist? Cowlibob (talk) 04:31, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
I actually just opted to take it out — the source really mentions it in passing and it seems unclear based on their research exactly how much she ever did with it anyway. Smith's legal work seems like it should be the focus anyway. Nsteffel (talk) 17:15, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
New enough as created on May 11. Long enough >4000 characters. NPOV, appropriate in line citation, spotchecks free of copyvio/plagiarism/ close paraphrasing. Both hooks interesting, short enough, verified, and NPOV. Surprisingly this is only Nsteffel's 2nd DYK so no need for QPQ. Nice short article on a clearly notable individual. Good job! G2G.
