Dark Matter and the Dinosaurs

[edit]

Created by NE Ent (talk). Self-nominated at 19:34, 12 December 2015 (UTC).

  • Article is new, long enough, interesting, neutral and adequately referenced. Hook is short enough, interesting, hook fact is cited in the article, and verified in online reference. I edited the hook slightly; removed "world-renowned" to make it neutral, and italized book title. Spot checks did not reveal close paraphrasing. QPQ not needed, as nominator has less than five dyks. • The current wording of the hook appears to give more weight/credence to Randalls idea then the article itself and the science community are giving it.--Kevmin § 21:32, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Revised ... does that work? NE Ent 00:49, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Rewording gives much better weight to the speculative nature of the "hypothesis"--Kevmin § 02:50, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Only other tweak I would make is change killed to contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs (though it still has the problem that dinosaurs were not killed off at all, only some of them.)--Kevmin § 18:15, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Hmm, still leaves the problem that dark matter wasn't the cause (and one could just as easly say at that level of relatedness that gravity was the cause, since it pulled the asteroid in. The direct cause of the partial extinction was the impact. Also it leaves the problem of dinosaurs are not extinct.--Kevmin § 15:54, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
Alt4 seems to fit the bill well for a hook, it covers the general concept, is verified with the sources and maintains npov on the concepts.(Im not going to quibble on the "dinosaurs became extinct" part, even though they didn't abd only outdated sources still use that line).--Kevmin § 13:58, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
