- :Personally, I think Gary Cooper is the most notable “hook”. KJP1 (talk) 20:49, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
.ALT 2: .. that actor Gary Cooper received confirmation at the Church of All Saints, Houghton Regis?Source: here and "Gary Cooper Visits Dunstable". Dunstable Borough Gazette. March 30, 1932. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 13:07, 30 March 2022 (UTC)- ALT 3 ... that Hollywood Star Gary Cooper was baptised at the Church of All Saints, Houghton Regis (pictured)? Source: here
- The picture is clear and free, also freedom of panorama for buildings exists in the UK. Deletion was proposed for this article March 23 ...25 days ago.. - article was nominated March 29th and 5x expanded. 1st issue: The history section reads like a bullet list or random collection of facts so it should be developed into coherent paragraphs. 2nd Issue: ALT3 is confirmed and interesting. But I would propose another ALT because it may be of interest that this is a medieval/middle ages era church and the target article is at the end of the hook.
- ALT4 ... that the medieval Church of All Saints, Houghton Regis (pictured) hosted the baptism of Hollywood Star Gary Cooper in 1911?
- I will leave it up to the nominators, I can except ALT3 as confirmed and interesting, I just think perhaps the target article should be early in the hook. The parish says: "Our picturesque 13th century Grade 1 listed church" so that puts the church in the medieval period. Article has, correct inline citations and notes. 3rd issue: The copyvio detector picks up [appears to be a violation] which should be addressed - a long paragraph appears to be copied. So a few issues to address: the history section, the copyright issue and the ALT4 question. Bruxton (talk) 23:29, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- I disagree about the Gary Cooper hook, its fun and trivia aspect nonetheless, because it supports the view that even medieval-era buildings, like women, are interesting in its connection to famous men. For that reason, I vote for ALT1. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 00:04, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- User:Bruxton Copy edited out the alleged copyright problem. I don't care about the hook choice. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 02:24, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Have tried to make the prose a little less bullet-point. As indicated above, I do think the Cooper baptism is the most “eye-catching” and improbable element of the church’s story. KJP1 (talk) 17:13, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- The prose was improved, the cc was eliminated, and regarding the hook - it sounds like @KJP1: prefers ALT3? The nominator 7&6=thirteen, is not stuck on any hook choice. Myself, I prefer ALT4 (note I have modified it and added Gary Cooper to that hook). Both hooks are useable and verified and I will allow the promotor to choose.
