Bashar al-Shatti

[edit]

Created/expanded by ClaudeReigns (talk), Epeefleche (talk). Nominated by ClaudeReigns (talk) at 20:47, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Not a 5x expansion. Article had 402 characters of prose as of June 2012, and is now at 1746. I'm not sure where that "more than 2000" estimate comes from. Sorry. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:24, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Theoretically this can still be saved. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:49, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
  • As pointed out above, the article had 402 prose characters prior to the expansion, and therefore needs to be increased to 2010 prose characters; as noted, the article currently has 1746 characters. (All figures courtesy of DYKcheck.) In addition, the stub template will need to be removed from the article. This means you need to find at least 264 prose characters worth of new material to add to the article. Please let us know if you plan to make the necessary additions. Thank you. It is the express wish of those in charge of DYK not to promote bio bloat. I had sought on many occasions to expand the biography with legitimate sources that address the subject of Bashar al-Shatti himself, and not anything which might obscure the subject. Further sources which I have found are either Arabic-language sources, which presents some difficulty fulfilling WP:V, or an English language blog (q8stig.com) which though containing an interview, may not qualify per WP:RS. The information regarding Mr. Al-Shatti's interest in automobile collecting is extensive enough and would fill out the article. If there is any interest in my completing the article on this basis, I will be happy to do so, otherwise first reviewer is quite right and the nomination is insufficient. • Arabic language sources are fine. If we weren't allowed to use foreign language sources, the FAs Andjar Asmara, Chrisye, Sudirman, etc. would never have passed. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:37, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for being flexible. I added an Arabic language source from MBC (where he has a role on a television series) answering fan questions about his personal life and views. I used a character counter and removed all title headings and footnote superscripts to arrive at a character count of 2121. There is likely more to add if so desired. • Okay, it's now a 5x expansion. The hook fact needs the citation directly after the sentence (it's in the sentence after). – Muboshgu (talk) 23:53, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Doubled up on the reference, just to be clear. ClaudeReigns (talk) 05:47, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Full review needed, since article now qualifies as a 5x expansion. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:08, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm still here. Just got back from vacation. This meets full criteria now as far as I can see. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:28, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Great! Welcome back: I hope you had a great time, and thanks for finishing this one off! BlueMoonset (talk) 01:38, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
