Archduchess Sophie of Austria

  • (reason below), but its a nice article and a nice expansion (even if not enough). Please ping me on my talk page if the expansion issue gets addressed. Carcharoth (talk) 03:46, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Expanded on the same day from this version (866 characters) to this version (3372 characters or 3624 characters if you include the quote; I excluded the gallery captions from the count). Unfortunately, this isn't a five-times expansion. Article length is fine. Hook length is also fine, but it needs to make clear that 'Sisi' is Sophie's mother. Personally, I'd make the hook about the tragic early death, as that is really the central point of the article. Not checked the article against core policies and guidelines. Not checked whether QPQ is needed here (could the nominator make clear whether they need to review a DYK nomination or not?). Not checked image. Happy to return to this if the expansion issues are addressed, but rejecting for now. Carcharoth (talk) 03:46, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Have been asked here to explain further what the problem is here. When I said above "Article length is fine", I was referring to the criteria which reads: "Long enough – the prose portion is at least 1500 characters". When I said "this isn't a five-times expansion", I'm referring to the fact that this article wasn't created as a new article, but was an expansion of an existing article. The relevant criteria here is: "had its prose portion expanded at least fivefold". That hasn't happened here, hence the rejection. I see you've mentioned this article to User:Piotrus here. If what I've said is not clear, please ask him, as he will be able to explain it. The new hook you proposed here is fine, and I've copied that below as an alternative. • ALT 1: ... that Archduchess Sophie of Austria (pictured) was the only one of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sisi)'s children to die young?
